Senior Mens SP

It's exactly the opposite for me. Which is why I generally think this kind of judging is a bit ridiculous. I mean because it's all so subjective. A performer can captivate you without necessarily making you clap or jump in your seat.

I agree with you, but the thing here is that Johnny and Evan are two different kinds of performers. I love Johnny, and the way he skates, the way he interprets not so "in Your Face", it almost feels as if we were watching from a distance. It is more reserved, yet it is interesting to watch, at least for me. I also like expresive skaters (like Yagudin, Lambiel, Joubert, Verner, Takahashi, etc.), but there are others that sometimes seems to have a fake energy or happiness, as if they were trying too hard to convey an emotion, so it doesn't look natural.

Ditto Plushenko, for that matter, while Yagudin was magnetic...
I always felt that Yagudin was kind of an "Emperor's New Clothes" kind of skater, presentation-wise. He could make easy stuff look hard (his Morosov footwork (TM) for instance.)

Johnny, in contrast, makes hard stuff look easy.

The only way Johnny won't try the quad is if Evan completely self destructs, this won't happen, when has Evan ever had a really bad LP? Therefore, Johnny will definitely try the stupid quad.

I'm so happy Johnny got the higher TES (like he usually should) it's a joke when he doesn't get + GOE for his jumps or when Evan doesn't get - GOE for his lopsided, skidding, barely hanging on jumps.

For PCS I don't think Evan should ever on any planet have a higher SS score than Johnny, but I can understand him having higher IN and PE scores than Johnny because he has that OTT in your face look at me choreography that people piddle themselves over.

Unless Galina has instilled some serious mental strength in him I don't see how Johnny can handle skating right after Evan and not flip out.

All I know is that Johnny has experienced exactly the same thing last year, so he will definitely handle it in a better way this time. And I think he will go for the quad as he planned.

Evan went into total sell mode after the error on the quad combo and the scary 3A and he really did sell the rest of the performance. I think he got a little POd and was skating even faster than he normally does from that burst of self anger.

I saw Evan's SP on TV last night. He did burst an anger after his two mistakes in the jumps, but it was only last about 3 seconds, then he didn't give up but his fire went off. It seems to me that Evan couldn't move as fast as he himself wanted. It's just my feeling about his SP. He was so disappointed at the K & C with his performance. Then he got his Personal Best SP scores. The rest about Evan, I don't have to comment.

Ryan's jumps were great, but what was that choreography? Major music changes in the middle of spins, in the middle of footwork ... and to end in the corner? Blah. He should hire Braden Overett to do his programs!
I cracked up last night when the commentator said that Ryan's choreographer, was, in fact, Braden Overett! I guess Braden saved the good stuff for himself.
