M/N were weaker on the free during the 1st stage but they held on to the gold which I wasn't expecting but S/D are coached by Zhulin so I dont think the judges will favor M/N as much as they did during the 1st stage.

Had to perform at the first stage with Tyutyunina, but she broke her arm. They were reassigned to the later stages.

Oh I had expectations when it was announced and I am so glad I was proven right! Just love these two. Also total girl crush on Shanaeva. She is one of the prettiest things I’ve ever seen (along with Chock and Stepanova)

In women? I'd say they've been pretty strict in most of the recent years, with notable exceptions made for some skaters.

In other disciplines, however, I would not call the judging particularly strict by any means (especially in men's and ice dance).
