Huge talent in this novice group-and most likely the first Russian skaters we will see internationally at the JGP a few years down the road. I think the international community is going to get quite a jolt when these girls start showing up to compete-without the Russians skating has taken a giant step backward, but this won't last forever, and it will be quite the wakeup call when they return, because as this Novice group showed-they are better than ever, the best they have ever been.i couldn't watch yesterday last 2 girls group live but now that I have caught up with. I feel like its safe to say this is the most talented generation in Russian girls figure skating and im not only talking about the quad girls here
Liza is such a tiny power house her only mistake was a step out in the short , but obviously with the top girls having quads she couldn't really make up for that mistake.
Lidia continues her great season with a clean skate and all 3 combos backloaded! This truly is her breakout season and im so happy for her!
Alina, I feel so bad for this girl. I think they need to cool it with 4lz attempts for now most of the times they really dont look landable, she has had some fall heavy free skates this season. Thankfully the judges do like her a lot and are willing to save her but for how long.
Lena landed her 4S cleanly in a skate finally! sadly tiny mistakes here and there saw her drop to 3rd. Imreally interested to watch how her coaching change will help/affect her going forward.
Valeria also landed her 4S cleanly for the 1st time and the rest of her skate was clean enough for her to climb back up tp 2nd!
Margo was simply amazing. I love that she couldn't hide her smile at the end of her skate and during the spin she was fully grinning. She knew she had won. Interesting thing about this competition tho it kinda showed us that at the very least in moscow Novice competition the Eteri bonus just might be dead. She fell on the 3lz-3t and her sp score got destroyed, a mistake her peers have done before this season but have never scored this low with it. The judges dont seem to be as fond of her as they are of the rest. So im curios as how that will affect her scores vs others in the future or if the judges opinion of her will change as she keep this momentum up.
Kind of mind blowing... Litvincheva and Lebedeva are eligible for the 2030 Olympics if they stay with the eligibility requirements... which will also be the first Olympics Akatieva is qualified to skate at. Akatieva will be 21 at the start of the Olympic season and a mere 7 days after the start of the season she'll 22. The rest here have to wait until 2034 and someone like Sarnovskaya will have a simular story to Akatieva where they'd be 22 at their first Olympics.Qualifiers for Younger Age Novice Nationals (Younger group) - Girls:

Now you said it - I've noticed very few new names on the circuit.is it just me or is the number of novice boys shrinking in moscow? Last year in younger age group we had 17 boys now it has shrunk to 13 and out of them 9 will move up to the older group next season and as someone who watches novice comps I honestly cant see many new faces replacing them.
11 out of 19 of the elder group will age out. So the number of skaters there will shrink as well. Im little concerned![]()
While thats true, it doesn't explain the lack of novices as those skaters are not allowed to compete in here anyway, 2010 kids that can need to move up to juniors next season as they no longer will be eligible in these younger age novice comps. There is a lack of boys in general too in moscow novice comps. Most no longer even offer boys category and if they do its 1 or 2 category, there isnt enough boys joining which is a shameIt's mismanagement of the fed. They are hugely overscoring some chosen boys and pushing them into juniors. There they shine for a season or two with their kids' quads until they lose them or get injured, in the process demotivating the older junior boys who should actually be built up for international competition (at least before the ban). But whatever, just my two cents.

You're right. She's 14 going into the 22-23 season, 15 going into the 23-24 season, 16 going into the 24-25 season, 17 going into the 25-26 season. TBH, I got that impression from someone on instagram who has made the point a few times that she wasn't eligible and didn't look into it myself.Sofia is eligible for the 2026 olympics.

if it wasn't for that step out go the 3lz eu 3F it would have been completely clean. He is amazing is he about to replicate Margo?
im not sure he is going to reach novice nats but he did really well here regardless! The oldest a skater can be in their first Olympic season is 20, turning 21, otherwise, they would have been 17 at the start of the previous Olympic season. The rest here have to wait until 2034 and someone like Sarnovskaya will have a simular story to Akatieva where they'd be 22 at their first Olympics.
