Im really surprised to see Kirill A and Arseny in the list with junior nats being next week which would mean they would be competing twice in less than a week.

Kirill A. is also scheduled to compete this weekend at Tchaikovskaya. So basically three competitions in one week...
On the other hand, both competitions this week are in Moscow, so he doesn't have to travel. Maybe it doesn't make much difference if he does his program run-throughs in training or in competition?

Or, and I sincerely hope this is not the case, he didn't make the cut for Junior Nats due to some age-eligible senior men taking up places. But I can only think of Anisimov, Lutfullin, and Popov, who else is there of the guys from Senior Nats?

I cant think of anyone else, who could and actually would take up spots.

With the girls I can think of a lot of seniors who could also do jr nats. Im wondering if any of them will do that.

I just realized CSKA bonus is well and alive in the novice girls category :rolleye: I guess with Eteri bonus going away in moscow, we are going back to CSKA bonus in moscow for girls. I know judges will never be objective and reputation judging will always be part of most sports but CSKA bonus was very noticeable today with the girls.

Masha

Her 2A is huge, and her skating skills are quite good, but she just really rushed the take-off on the Lutz, so she was already a bit off-kilter in the air and couldn't hold on to the landing.

Mazur is struggling with the lutz combo in the short this season :console: maybe they should not backload it for now:shrug:
Yeah, the Lutz is her weakest jump in many aspects, I just don't think it comes naturally to her. Her even being able to fully rotate a 3Lz+3T is a fairly new achievement, and she was doing well with it in the first half of the program towards the end of last season.

I assume that's also why they moved it into the second half, but it seems like her setup into the jump is causing her issues, she regularly rushes the take-off. I wonder if a different entry could help or maybe moving the elements around, she doesn't have much breathing room if she wants to get the spin on the musical highlights.

Really nice to see the judges reward her quality of skating though, level 3 on the StSq (most before her had a level 1) and almost the same PCS as Milana and Maria Paramonova despite having a fall.

Hey Adele!

I've always though she's got some good songs to skate to.

The sound quality on this YouTube stream is kinda terrible though.
