I was on the arena and must disagree with my dear friend @el henry. I would have had both Kao and Shun easily ahead of Keegan. I think even Keegan was surprised when those scores came up and put him ahead of Shun Sato!

I thought so, but then when I saw a tweet about two Miura's winning 4CC it maybe me wonder. Chen is pretty common, too, but Karen and Jeffrey are siblings.

I agree. I think it is because he doesn't do classical/lyrical pieces like Brown, Lambiel Buttle Chan do/did and they truly are the pc skaters (sorry Evan, Yuzuru, Nathan et al.

Kao landed -3T, eu 3S and 2A as combos
Keegan landed -2T, 3T and 2T and forgot and missed a jump altogether
The combos seem to have made the difference between these two competitors.
I was hoping Keegan would do a 3A 2A 2A jump combination. It is an easy one for him as his axel is his best jump
Still, he had the performance of the night. Him and Aymoz have such under rated skating skills. Kao shouldn’t have been that close to Keegan in PCS score. But, Keegan was so happy with his silver medal.
Also, Keegan’s score of 275 puts him at third place in SB score heading into Seniors Worlds behind Shoma and Ilia out of the men selected to go to Worlds. He is a dark horse for a podium spot now
Also, @4everchan, I thought Conrad was robbed at this event. I would have placed him an easy 6th place at this event. Loved his 2A 2A combo. Very smart layout. He has improved so much. He proved at his event that he is Canada’s number 2 man. His SB is now ahead of Romsky too… I just wish he was scored appropriately as his SB just misses out of top 24 standing and I thought he was ten points better than what he scored at this event 
Not sure about his skating skills though…. I’m a bit worried for Canada’s future in men skating. If Keegan retires, will we have a guy that can score top 24 next year?
@Ichatdelune Jun is usually my fave…love his 4S. Not sure if he should go for a 4T, and that 3A (I knew he would screw up, as he always screws up when he slows down so much before the axel). Loved his 3Lz 3Lo combo… good skater. But, he was clear 4th at this event and didn’t skate the free skate with the same tenacity that he normally does. Keegan won me over tonight, though, with his personality and skating skills.

Conrad got 33 in PCS for the SP and 70 in the LP.... I think that he deserves a few more points and I agree and just a couple points would have made him 6th.Also, @4everchan, I thought Conrad was robbed at this event. His skating skills are improving every day. This is what frustrated me a bit is that he got similar PCS scores as a year ago but he is at another place altogether... There is a reason why he is landing his jumps better and it has to do with his basic stroking. Much smoother, miuch more regular. More power. He is fast and powerful into the jumps which he attacks. Yes, his style is a bit unusual, maybe not as smooth as some but he is 183cms.. I think Conrad is in this for the long run, so I am confident that he will keep improving. His relationship with Ravi seems to be working : in the KnC, he keeps analyzing what he has done and how things went... it seems like Ravi has installed some competent knowledge into his student and when a skater understands better the mechanics of technique, it helps with consistency.
Perhaps that some judges will start showing him a bit more love if he keeps skating like he did this weekend.
And perhaps, that next year, as a lot of the ground work has been done, Ravi will bring him up at bit more in terms of presentation. His PCS scores can only go up really, and they better go up. Some positive in terms of judging at this event for Conrad, when he did elements well, he did get rewarded... of course, he didn't get any benefit of the doubt when the landings were iffy... but at least, he is able to gather some positive GOE, for instance, on the 4S which was huge or the 3a-3t.
I also think he will get another chance for that top 24 and hopefully he will see a bump in scores if he continues to show consistency as he has been.
Well I confess I went to bed early. US men not stellar. And honestly after looking at the scores of SP and LP and noticing that Jimmy got higher PCS in both than Maxime and realizing that at Nats Jimmy scored higher than Maxime in tech and what hurt him was Maxime's higher PCSs I think Jimmy should have been in fourth at Nats given the pewter and stood on the medal stand. PCS are subjecive and manipulated. And I've been saying it for years there should be two separate panels but of course we can't have twenty judges so that will never happen. Anyway here's my at Nats Jimmy was robbed.

Yeah some of the Xs were weird and inexplicable.Maybe one of the judges who post here can explain it.

Yes, especially under the new rules.
'A Choreographic Sequence consists of at least 2 different movements like spirals,
arabesques, spread eagles, Ina Bauers, hydroblading, any jumps with maximum of 2
revolutions, spins, etc. Steps and turns may be used to link the 2 or more different
movements together. Listed elements included in the Choreographic Sequence will
not be called and will not occupy a box. The pattern is not restricted, but the
sequence must be clearly visible.'
Underlined has been added since this season.
But this particular one was later rewatched and given the base value.
