2022-23 Russian Local Events – Discussion

Congrats to little Nikita for the victory.
Lyosha would have probably had this with the 3A. Still, he fought his way back onto the podium and I'm sure he will keep on working on the Axel until the Cup Final.
Overall a great competition, hopefully there will be some podium pics from juniors and seniors.

I had a hockey/rugby union/football day - so I didn't watch anything and boy, did I miss great performances or what?! :giggle:
Congrats to the Lezhas in both categories and Kirill Kropylev!!!! :yahoo: Well done, Nikita, Tikhonov (made it onto the podium) and redemption skate for Shelyakin. Good for you who watched it (y)

Samos 4S just isnt working at all this season and they seem to have abandoned the 3A:( but other than that and the botched spin she did really well:console: I love her skating a lot and Im so impressed with her 3lz-3lo this season

Its a shame tho, without getting at least one of the 3A/4S back her chances in this Russian women field are limited.

Details for Moscow Championship among Boys and Girls (Older Age) can be found in the Link Collection thread.
Details for Championship of St Petersburg (Juniors) can also be found on the above page.

I know this is overlapping and I thought about opening different threads. However, I think keeping it in the same thread might be less hassle for cross-event watchers. If you want separate threads, just let me know.

All of the boys that competed in jr nats wd from the moscow qualifiers which makes sense. Kinda wanted to see Kolya, Lev and Arseny compete together again .
Yeah, I thought that would have been to good to be true...but it does make sense of course. Still good performers there, especially Stolyarenko and Vadim Voronov. 👌

So did a lot of the Moscow girls that are likely to be on the national teams or just competed at Jr Nats (Zinina, Rubtsova, Gordeeva, Kulikova).

Im shocked Milana is here.

I didn't even notice Gordeeva, Kulikova or Lyuba were on the list, I only remembered Zinina being there.

Milana finished 9th at Jr Nats, and might not be as secure about her national team spot (Alisa will be added to the Jr team, but I think Alina will be on the Sr team so Milana's spot would be fine)

I was surprised they were on the list at all tbh, especially because they're all likely on the national teams (all finished in the top 7 at their respective age-group nationals).

Loops are causing little bit of an issue for skaters in moscow.
Man, I am still waiting for Masha to skate this Short clean again (I think she did at the beginning of the season) - Today the 2A and 3Lz+3T were great, but she fell on the 3Lo. Though she did also have issues on the Loop in the Free at her last competition.

I'm currently wondering where the second deduction came from - One for the fall, but I don't think she went over the time, did she?

I think they might put Alina in the junior team to fit in Samo in senior reserves or even Sasha if they do well at the cup final.
