As Jari has Finnish name I cheer him like he was a Finn.

I just had a thought. Although he is representing Croatia, Jari Kessler is from Italy. As his surname suggests, he is from the German speaking part of the country, the South Tyrol.

I know that the Finnish name "Jarno" is very popular in Italy, with a lot of people there naming their kids after Finnish motorbike racer Jarno Saarinen, who was killed in the 1973 Italian 250cc Grand Prix. For example, Italian Formula 1 driver Jarno Trulli was named after him.

Your comment started me wondering - is "Jari" a shortened form of "Jarno"?

If it is, he could fit the pattern.

I would (wildly) guess that Torgashev and Mark go through, Starostin and Sabate don't. But who knows...
