So happy for Kaori. She thought she blew it, but she didn't. It was sad to see her so sad at the end, yet I had no doubt it was enough. That 3t after the popped flip saved her, I think. She could have abandoned it, but that good old muscle memory kicked in.( nice highlights in her hair)
Great skate for Lee. What a moment for Korea, wanting a ladies medal for so long. She couldn't put a foot wrong. (On a purely shallow level, I wish she'd do something about those little sideburns)
Loena. Good skate, on.y 1 error. I dislike her music, but she didn't let the fall disrupt the performance.
Isabeau. That 1 fall, but still pretty good. She didn't look well, her pallor seemed off, I hope it was just nerves or disappointment with the skate.
Crushed for Mai, but from the moment she left the boards I knew it'd be trouble. She didn't have that smile or sparkle after getting her send off. Verrry nervous skate. Awful to have her worst skate of the season at World's, but that's skating. Her season until now was amazing.
Niina. Solid skate a d 2 spots for Estonia. My heart is happy.

Unfortunately I expected it. I hoped I would be wrong. The only skater in my opinion coming in strong is Isabeau or Isabella. I keep forget her name. Bradie coming back from injury and too long away from. Competition. Amber doesn't always skate like she believes in herself. She thinks or expect low scores so she skaters like it.

Yeah, I hope people aren't too hard on Amber or Bradie. They tried, and Amber especially has never been to Worlds before. The result should not be held against them, it was a tough competition.

Some years ago I made a thread could judges be compared but robots or something like that. Most answers were no. I think it is possible today and if they do the separate TES/PCS program share it may well turn that way.

Nope. Kaori won, Loena is thirdI don't know if my eyes are cheating on me, but could it be that they have given the bronze medal to Kaori and the gold to Loena?

Belgium just looses the 3rd spot (3+11 =14, and does German loose the another spot because Kristina Isaeev did not make it to the free even Nicole was in top10? But Estonia got 2. Just thinking about the small feds now.

But look at the medals they have received: Does Kaoris medal not look more reddish and therefore bronze while Loena's looks more yellowish?

Me too. I expected Levito to be off the podium - based on how she’s been losing to Japanese and Korean ladies in the SP all season - but in the top 5. This will mean second American will need to place no lower than 9th and that’s going to be very hard to do. It would have been very hard for Tennell to pull that off (3 Japanese, 3 Korean, Hendrickx, and there’s a few small fed ladies that could beat her, as well), especially coming back from injury. But the American ladies didn’t do badly at all; they just don’t need three spots.

I think it is not about lighting a fire under anyone. It is about funding, about funding the most talented and not just allowing the richest to skate (I don't doubt the talent of the girls here, but I think there are some in the US who are talented and who don't take up skating or are discouraged before they are getting anywhere...), it is about the image of the sport as an elite, white sport in many places, it is about coaches and coaching situations (and places - maybe better to have your biggest training places in the biggest cities so that less people have far away during their teens to have the best coaches), about structures. About focusing on the right things in training during the right times in development. And for instance the US skaters are usually great spinners - but on elite level that simply doesn't get the points.
It's not the skaters' fault, if the US wants to make more out of their rather big pool of people taking up skating, there need to be some changes in the system.

Yes maybe first world , but not first competition. She been competing a while I. GP and challengers. That being said . If she stays in, hopefully she will believe she can do it. Bradie been to Olympics medal, WTt champ, medal at 4Cc. She knew the skating she needed to do. It didn't happen. Hold it against her, no. Even for amber. The competition is tough. Only will get tougher as grow older in sport that younger are doing harder jumps. Hope Amber keeps improve on 3A . Their is time's she almost there in competition.

Of course I'm disappointed that the US lost a spot for next season but am still very proud for her. She recovered quickly after the fall and skated so beautifully from then on that I almost forgot the fall even happened. Already a fierce competitor at such a young age and carrying the weight of so many expectations...here's hoping she can take a long rest, gain perspective, and start next season with renewed determination!

I think I feel the worst for Bradie. She worked so incredibly hard to come back only to have it fall apart at the worst possible time. I am proud of Isabeau, yes she has her flaws but I love her detailed choreography , brightness and competitive nerve. Amber is Amber - often injured, full of talent, but unable to skate cleanly with any regularity. Not sure what else we can do about it given the current talent pool. I will root for them and hope someone rises up from the depths to seize an opportunity.

Not interesting, always great competitors . Just unnoticed due to the jumps the Russian hyped, quads , good though. Helped people believe could do those jumps so clean up theirs. Look for ways to stay competitve.
