I wasn't sure where to post this, but in the end thought here would probably be the best place.
On Friday and Saturday, I caught up on the second series of the BBC's figure skating documentary series "Freeze". Yes, I know that in just over a week's time it will be a year since Episode 1 was first broadcast. And it shouldn't have taken me this long to get around to watching it. (To be fair, I didn't actually tape it until it was repeated on BBC1 the beginning of August, so it is actually only 7 months that I have had it sitting there. I didn't tape it the first time round because the channel logo on BBC3 is far too big!) But, part of the reason that I didn't get round to it until now is that I have been watching actual figure skating competitions!

Anyway, part of it was filmed at the 2021 Ice Challenge in Graz, Austria (OK, so 2021 was the year that the Ice Challenge used the "Cup Of Austria" moniker. But I refuse to call it that, because that name is always used for the Austrian round of the Junior GP Series. And having two events with the same name being held only a month apart caused a lot of confusion in 2021. Thankfully, the organisers saw sense, and the Graz event reverted to the "Ice Challenge" name for the 2022 edition). During one of the backstage shots, I saw Emilea Zingas walking away from camera, wearing her Team Cyprus quilted coat. And I thought:

OK, so it wasn't cold by Canadian or Russian standards. But it was by Northern Ireland standards. The temperature has been going up and down within a range between -10°C and +5°C for the past week. It snowed on Thursday night, and I got up on Friday morning to find everything white. But, there was no-where near as much snow as other parts of the province got. By Saturday morning, a lot of it had already disappeared and by this morning, there was nothing left. So, we did get off lightly.
Suffice to say, I stayed indoors where it was warmer!

But, I just thought it was a funny coincidence that, at a time when temperatures here were below 0°C, I was watching one of my kids wearing a quilted coat.

"That looks so warm!
Since you don't need that coat any more now that you have switched to Team USA, can I have it? It's been so cold here the past few days!"
