No, it was a problem with the stream. They showed N/M just as they had finished their RD and were coming off the ice. So frustrating. I missed Women and Men SPs so I hadn't realized there were previous problems with the streams. Hopefully they will be working well for Men FS and for Free Dance.Oh? I was late and thought about going back too late... so that wasn't me actually?well, the fax line from Bangkok had been wonky right from the start on Thursday..

especially since it is so much earlier... just a 1am start for me LOL and a decent start for the west coastersNo, it was a problem with the stream. iirc, men's SP was the least affected, so I hope the FS goes well too.No, it was a problem with the stream. They showed N/M just as they had finished their RD and were coming off the ice. In the same spirit, scores that add up properly for Canadian events. And correct scores in the "score wart".Streams that stream properly? First JGP and it's already a huge fail..
Scores that score with streams that stream !!!!In the same spirit, scores that add up properly for Canadian events. And correct scores in the "score wart".
This is one of my big wishes too (apart from "please everyone stay healthy and uninjured" of course). I'd love to see them make GPF again and be in actual medal contention.I wish that Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker compete to the best of their abilities this coming season and be recognized for the top elite skaters they are. And for the USA Pairs to all skate well at 2024 American nationals. so that the result is not predetermined. And yes for this mess with the Olympic team medals gets resolved so that the USA, Japan and Canada teams get their medals!
Yeah, I got around to watching the girls programs not knowing what to expect. How embarrassing. It wasn't some kind of momentarily glitch the second half of the short program was ruined. Whatever it didn't ruin my day, but geez it's amateur hour. I think the ISU financial report said they have $300 million in bonds, so not to be all negative but it's totally unacceptable the coverage of the first JGP stage. Maybe they need to contact some Twitch streamers or something for tips on staying online for more than a couple hours at a time. Maybe spend a little money on paying Mark Hanretty to fly out out to Bangkok as well I mean COVID is over we don't need to do Zoom commentary anymore and the ISU have $300 million in bonds. Gotta spend money to make money.Streams that stream properly? First JGP and it's already a huge fail..

Figure skating is held in the one venue there's only a few cameras required I don't think you can compare to cycling with cameramen mounted on motorbikes across 100 km stages. Figure skating is one of the easiest sports to cover. As an avid watcher of cycling... how is that "embarrassing"? It's a free livestream for some fs nerds (and maybe friends and family), it's a junior competition in a niche sport, there is hardly an audience watching live (apart from the pupils this time).
I mean, yeah, of course we would all prefer it didn't happen, but it happens and it's not a big deal, really. The fact they are showing it live entirely is actually one of the few things I would applaud them on.
(Watch the stream going down during the Giro or Vuelta, two of the biggest races in cycling, or the organizers not being able to show time gaps despite GPS tracking, and everything else that is a complete chaos there in organization and streaming... and that sport is a lot bigger and many people pay to view this...)
Mark has indicated that he prefers not to have to travel to every event, as he doesn't want to spend close to 2 months apart from his family. His kids are 6 and 10 years old, so it's completely understandable why he doesn't want to have to be separated from them for an extended time.Maybe spend a little money on paying Mark Hanretty to fly out out to Bangkok as well I mean COVID is over we don't need to do Zoom commentary anymore and the ISU have $300 million in bonds.
Okay I see. That's a shame for us he's a great commentator. Ted's great too but it's always good to get two good perspectives. Still the ISU is not short of money they just don't like to spend any of it but if the offer was right I'm sure Mark flies out as well.Mark has indicated that he prefers not to have to travel to every event, as he doesn't want to spend close to 2 months apart from his family. Personally, I'm not a fan of throwing money at people so that they will put themselves into situations they are unhappy or uncomfortable with.Okay I see. and posted in the rewatch, although ISU has not posted Men & Women SP yet.Individual videos of Bangkok are now all on youtube, btwas far as I've seen, also for the not streamed programs.
