Andrei invites fans to the first round of the Russian Grand Prix in Ufa

Group hugs :ghug:

Andrei, there will definitely come a day when you will succeed, and this day you need to survive and move forward

It wasn't a great skate, but a good one, and the program started to look clearer. I liked it.
Too shame about the pop on 4S, but anyway, thanks, Andrei, you performed well.

Andrei Mozalev: men's singles skating is becoming the most interesting sport right now

Junior World Champion and Russian bronze medalist Andrei Mozalev commented on his performance at the Panin-Kolomenkin Memorial.

"The first element didn't work out, there are some small problems with the salchow. But it didn't stop me from going on and doing everything, getting to the end. What do I consider this start? As a rolling before the Grand Prix stage in Ufa, which will be next week.

What happened during the short program? Probably, since it's still my home walls, I didn't have that competitive excitement, adrenaline, and adrenaline helps most of the time. It was not like that here, it was like I was at a training session, even though there were spectators here, but there was no such fervor. Today I had a fervor purely because of the short one, because it didn't work out so well for me. I wanted to show that I can skate well and cleanly.

In general, of course, I'm not satisfied. I don't know what I need to do to be completely satisfied. But it's better to leave everything bad here and go to more serious tournaments with a clear head.

Serious competition? That's what is interesting, that there are rivals, there is someone to compete with, they make you move on, grow, learn new things, be better. I fully agree that men's singles is now becoming the most interesting sport," the words of Mozalev are transmitted by the correspondent of "Championat" Anastasia Matrosova.

Both of his programs looked ahead of the field. I know, jumping content, but I am tired harping on the same thing... I am just happy to see him developing a strong connection to his fan base and advancing towards the deep programs I would guess he always wanted to skate. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a long break before taking to the ice in Ufa, so I can only hope they will finally prioritize clean short over 2 quads gamble in short.

As always, these guys aren't looking for easy paths, they'll go for maximum content. Well, let's wish Andrei good luck and accept any result of the competition.

That's shortsighted. He would have been on the podium with 3Lz and clean 4T. He can’t jump two quads in a program, period. It's crystal-clear that the judging direction world-wide has swung firmly to maximize what you can do cleanly vs go for higher jumps and hope for the best.

Unfortunately, we can't influence that. But the fanclub was able to influence Andrei's relations with the fans, he became more sociable and open.
There are titanic changes in him now, he is growing up literally before our eyes, from a young boy to a serious young man. I hope that this will help him make some important decisions regarding his career.

Yeah, and unfortunately the federation can, and they seem to be somewhat adversarial to the ISU atm.
