2023-24 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 2 - Omsk

Cheremnykh/Butenko looked so happy in the mixed zone :love2:

Their next stage in Samara, so no senior stages this time.

Gleb! This boy is from my hometown, my aunt lives near the rink where he trains. He's our regional young star. How nice that he was able to show a beautiful skating! :cheer2:
Maybe he'll even end up on the podium and get a ticket to the Junior Championships? That would be great!

Tikhonova? Her Tech was ok though she messed up her 3-3. Artistically did you like it? I thought it was soo weird...
Yes, I like her. She's unrefined but she reminded me of Kamila in her junior year before she moved to Eteri. Well, not that good but no one is that good.. ;)

Whatever, Titova will masterclass tomorrow anyways.
I hope so. Normally Titova screams star quality when she skates-even when she misses a jump here and there. Today was the first time I've ever seen her where the entire program was sort of a mismatched mess. Last year I loved both of her programs-they were exciting. This year, it was like-what the heck was that? (In my best Simon Cowell impression).

I mean, I've been saying since the junior test skates that these programs suck. Its not her fault, she deserves better music and better choreo. Plushenko seems to have put all his stock into Muravieva and his ice shows, and now everyone else has garbage programs. Well, Trofimova's FS is good but thats because with that song you cant go wrong.

Regardless, I just want to see Titova hit her jumps and farm points to get first place.

I don't think it's Plushenko "putting all his stock" into Muravieva, it's that she did basically no shows which allowed her to refine her programs more, just like Kira who did very few shows too.

Also, I've noticed that the programs AoP brings in outside choreographers can turn out less good than when they are choreographed in-house like most of Muravieva's programs - Probably because it's easier to bring the vision to life if the choreographer is there for every single moment in the training process.

Can you elaborate on what you mean? Titova did more shows than Muravieva?

Muravieva has more roles than I can even remember in his shows - I've watched most of them through. I only recall her missing a single trip.

Trofimova seemed to be there quite often too but her roles were minor and short.
