Jason Brown

First, I wasn’t criticizing Jason, just making an observation. I don’t know what his priorities are, nor would I presume to judge him. I do think he looked a bit rough at Warsaw Cup but hopefully he’ll pull himself together by Nats. I also think that if he’s named to the World Team and does the shows in Japan he’ll likely be pretty jet lagged while competing. But I’m sure he considered that possibility before committing to the show.
Some people feel more jet-lag than others, and each person has their own worst days after it. I'm sure that Jason Brown knows well the effects of jet-lag on his body and will choose his travel days after this.

Ran across this random blog post talking about the pop up adult edge class with Jason. We know most of it already, but good to hear it confirmed :))

Let’s just say Jason Brown is meant to deal with the public. There were so many students that they had to divide us into two class sessions, and in the first session he shocked us all by walking around and hugging each of us....

He’s a very tough (but friendly and hilarious) teacher and expects you to move at a pace akin to that used by upper-level skaters.... But I think he managed to give feedback to almost everyone in the class of 30 (and there were 2 classes of 30!), and showed no preference for the better skaters vs. the ones like me.

Also, for a completely trivial observation, the USFS Fanzone published a fluff piece on skaters' holidays. Most of us already know about the dude ranch, but I have never seen Jason and Dylan look so alike as in this photo with their grandfather:

@NoNameFace Beatrice, what do you think of his attempts at Polish? (better than my non-existent attempts. ;) ) And someone at RMHC spent a great deal of time on Polish subtitles. :)

He definitely got 'czapka od serca' ('a hat/cap from the heart' to translate the name of initiative shown in the video) perfectly and the Polish sentence in the tweet is also first class quality (big brownie points for including Polish characters, pronoun usage etc.)
I hope he had great time in Warsaw. As always, made sure to bring warmth, enthusiasm and spirit with him, both on the ice and off it.
PS. Some behind-the-scenes nuggets my crew who was responsible for handling crowns told me: Jason was clear a fan favourite, there was a long queue standing to him to congratulate him/snap a photo or for signature (at one point Lucas also stood in that queue which prompted another queue to form for Lucas ), he was always full of smile and kindness to everyone, folks were impressed by quality of his skating and his carriage :)

Thank you @NoNameFace for the information and the report.

The story about Lukas is too cute. I think Lukas and Jason left as fast friends, but then who doesn't after meeting Jason. :)

I go back to one of Brian's first comments about Jason, when he was teaching him to focus and get his game face on and not chat before competitions. "Everyone knows that Jason is the nicest guy in the world, but I want to see the "eye of the tiger" before he goes on the ice. After he skates, he can be as friendly as he wants, but not before!" Jason did learn that lesson. He comingles and hugs and smiles AFTER he's done competing. He's just a special human being and brings his best to everything! I'm happy that he and Lukas became friends. Their paths will cross and re-cross as the years go on.

Jason is scheduled to skate in the "Bol on Ice" show in Bologna Italy on January 6:

Other skaters are Ilia, Gaby and Guillaume, Keegan Messing, Maé-Bérénice, and others. No actual list that I have found, just three photos on the IG account. :)

Jason filmed a promo for Bol on Ice, (second screen) but sadly no one gave him any Italian words to say. (filmed in Vail which does not appear to have an abundance of snow at the moment).

I have been reading the show's IG posts for each skaters, and they are quite effusive, as is this one. And for every single skater, "non vedere l'ora": they can't wait. ;)

Being in Italy in January will be a nice break from the Toronto winter. He'll have just under 3 weeks to train after Italy. That should be enough. The choreo should be solid now. With Keegan on board, the good times will roll. I don't know how much longer Jason will continue to combine shows and competition, but he's certainly enjoying himself now! Happy Christmas Eve to all and I hope that you all have a very merry Christmas season and a Happy Holiday season overall.

Jason staying busy in Italy: he will be the special guest at the "Galappenino: danzando sul ghiaccio" in Modena on January 5. (Google tells me Modena and Bologna are next door to each other).

The greetings are almost the same as for Bol on Ice, except we get a "Ciao" at the end.

and the website with a poster with Jason (also Nikolaj Memola and Anna Pezzetta)
