Plausible! If so I hope for his sake that his ankle recovers enough for him to bring back the 3Lzmaybe he has some ankle problem and preferred to leave it out.. he clearly has done a 3lz all season as it is mandatory.. and that's why he needed a 2a at the end... he couldn't repeat another triple
Rio still has issues with many of his triples, like his lutz and flip... Unfortunately he's one of those bois who can jump 3A and quad yet still has messy triplesNo 3Lz is a choice, I must say. Also I don't get the choice of the last 2A... But I am not a layout mathematician so...![]()

Three isn't that much if you ask me, look at the RD where colors flythat's a lot of colours in one sentence.

I liked his magenta shirt though...Three isn't that much if you ask me, look at the RD where colors fly
It just wasn't a great fit with gershwin but you know... maybe he is colour blindReminds me of Hangil (Korean skater), who has a semi-consistent 3A but cannot land a 3-3 for his life. Boys please the high-tech stuff can come later consistent triples should come first...Rio still has issues with many of his triples, like his lutz and flip... Yesterday he posted a reel on Insta doing 4S. While the jump itself was greatly executed, I can't help but think "kid, please stabilise your other triples first please"![]()
I know, but jump math is jump mathhonestly, in development stages, it's very normal that jumps don't all come in the order of BV... a good coach will see what their skater is able to do and go with that... while the rest gets there... I have seen skaters with awful 3salchows while they could land all other triples.
well... his jump math was bang on.. there are not that many other layouts that would have given more points without a 3lz.I know, but jump math is jump math
I was trying to say that in general stable triples (and 3-3s) gain you more points than just relying on the high-tech jumps, not trying to say Nakata Rio's math was off, but you are right. Me and my migraines are not smart todaywell... his jump math was bang on.. there are not that many other layouts that would have given more points without a 3lz.
The only thing he could have done is remove the 3f-eu-3s
He did this
4T -
3A+3T
3A
3Lo
3F+1Eu+3S -
3Lo+2A
2A
He could have done this
4t
3a-3t
3a
3lo
3f-2t
3s
3lo-2a-2a
Gains a 2t... not really worth much more points-wise
It seems clear that he favours edge jumps with repeating both loops and axels...
Petra BindlSorry if this has been asked already... but who are these commentators?
They don't really have a lot of fans Admire you for even trying to do jump math with migraines. Ouch. Hope you feel better soon @Ichatdelune.I was trying to say that in general stable triples (and 3-3s) gain you more points than just relying on the high-tech jumps, not trying to say Nakata Rio's math was off, but you are right.
