2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games | Jan 27 - Feb 1

Such a contrast between the two songs that Konstantin was skating to! :drama: (Kinda like Aurélien, now that I think of it).

I like the costume, but the palest of the blues is maybe a bit too pale.

Goes into 3rd, but barely more than behind David.

Now for probably my favourite programme.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST TAO!!! :cheer:

My son made it! Shame about the 3A drop, but otherwise he did good. I like his stability.

Aww looks like I'm here for the tail end of the men :(

I did watch the pairs on the sly at work, very excited to see some Aussies, hope they continue skating I rather enjoyed them!

The Murphys are coaching a huge crop of young men, including national champion Wesley Chiu. Interesting you just heard that name for the first time.

I don't know how I managed it, but I had heard of Keegan Murphy, but not Eileen.

that's' quite an achievement for David considering Rio has a quad and 2 3a in his program... and well David is not yet doing these jumps

I was being a little bit sarcastic.

Boys, but I miss the sarcasm emoticon. It is hard to make obvious that you are being sarcastic without it.

3S+2A+1A+SEQ

Very dramatic skater. Needs to clean up the jump landings, but hopefully we see a lot more of him in the future.

112.12 = 4th Place
171.61 = 4th Place

I'm glad we didn't have to watch Tao die, it seems he still lives! :)

Actually how many chaps are left to skate? I miss the BOX.

And hey did you guys see Michael Brezina at the medal ceremony?! I was so excited when he showed up I almost cheered at work :laugh2:

anyone from Canada knows how the Fed picked David Li ? so many age eligible skaters could have been chosen... like Anthony for instance?

Don't hear me wrong. I think David did wonderfully well and deserves to be here.

When Mark Kondratiuk did his "Jesus Christ Superstar" programme, I enjoyed it, but wished he had used all of the "Overture", and just added a few seconds of something else onto the end to make up the time.

Although Tao doesn't use all of the "Overture" either, the edit he uses is more representative of the whole than Mark's.

I like him. And I can see him becoming our top Men's skater.

Unfortunately, he has dropped positions. Into 4th in the FS and overall.

I don't dislike Kakiuchi Haru but I do dislike his programs, to my tastes they are bland and he deserves better

Haru Kakiuchi 🇯🇵 (17)
Coach: Sayaka Yodo, Keiji Tanaka, Utako Nagamitsu
Music: Wake Me Up by Avicii, Simply Three

4T< - big step out
3Lo - tight landing
3Lz+3T+2T
Fly Camel Spin 4

3F1q+2A+SEQ
3S
2A+3T
Choreo Sequence
3Lz
Change Foot Sit Spin 4

Change Foot Combo Spin 4

The quadruple toeloop was so close. I thought for a moment that he had it, but then he couldn't hold the landing.

124.77 = 2nd Place
185.88 = 2nd Place

Haru the rock collector skated to pop-rock, rocked, and didn't pop! :biggrin:

Edit: I have now found out that "Wake Me Up" is not in fact pop-rock. And I thought it was a great pun...:palmf:

Music: Ordinaire (Gabrielle) by Bruno Pelletier

Enjoying this skater but making me miss Keegan Messing. Happy if he is influencing upcoming skaters.

Wholeheartedly agree with everything you say in this post! :cheer: :clap: :points:

But, this isn't my taste in music. So, maybe prefer if they were influenced by some of Keegan's other programmes... :p

Great skate, though.

Haru makes it a Japanese 1-2 in both FS and overall.

Oooh. Only 12.41 points behind Rio in the overall standings now.
