2024 World Junior Championships Women's Free Skate

Oh dear gods we have so much new junior talent coming up including the two Jiyus we need all the JGP spots... :dbana:
You don't have to worry about JGP spots, only the top placement is relevant for that, so unless Jia finishes outside of the top 3 (country-wise), Korea is fine.

I don't know why, i thought that Rena was from Hamada or from that Tokyo Coach (the one who coaches Rion and Wakaba).
She doesn't look like an Aichi skater.

What a fantastic skate! Rena's skating skills are the class of this group so far, you can immediately see her speed and edges. I'm glad to see her have a redemption skate, apparently she's returning from injury and so was a little shakier in the SP due to that. This was her best performance of her FS in my opinion, she was really committing to the choreo. Depending on what happens in the final group, she could challenge for a medal.

Yes Korea, should have sent Minsol. More established skater.
Honestly, don't think this is an issue of established vs. not established, but an issue of jump technique.

Minsol has some of the issues the twins also have on their jumps (on the smaller side, prone to URs), but her PCS are a lot better (imo) than either of the twins, which would have helped here. Also would have helped to not send two skaters with very similar strengths, weaknesses and styles, just for safety reasons anyway, to make sure there's a different option for a picky panel.

Attagirl Rena!!! That's my child!! :cheer2::points::dance3::party2:

Her last jump pass is an interesting 2A-2A-2T, I guess it's similar BV strategy with the American girls but just harder way to achieve it with 3Lz-3T.

Huge score!!! Deservingly!!!!
