I don't think red picked oddly.
It was smart to pick the two youngsters together - although they needed luck for that so that Lev was not already gone.
I think those two will go strong tomorrow.

Matvei was a team-mate pick I suppose, they do get along very well I think?
Samarin was simply left.

Bazylyuk and Petrosyan were gone I think (going by your list), so she picked no3 which I think was either because she didn't know about Sofia's form or out of respect for no2 at nats -

I think Anna picked clever but was also a bit lucky with when she could pick and who was left.

What was Liza thinking about during the draft

Honestly her team isn’t weak, her weakness is just the men’s short but unfortunately Mura who normally is very consistent fell on the most important element had she not fallen on combo she likely would have been 1st then men’s short would not have mattered much. Lev and Arseny need to be 1 & 2 for the red team to have a chance for gold now.

I think this is the first cup after which everything is calm in Russian social media. No one is saying how bad everything is, the scenario, and so on. We'll see what happens tomorrow, but I think this cup is the closest in quality to the first one.
