Are you saying he has difficulty with the jumps unless he does that? Interesting, considering I always heard it was more difficult to do them with your hands over your head.

It can be harder with arms in for some people, I've noticed its a trend with skaters who are really thin.

Kami, for example, can't land without her arms up. She worked on her new quads with arms up.

Of all the men I haven't seen before Worlds (or don't remember seeing--thanks, no thanks Prevagen) Semen is my #1 discovery! He has fun programs and his ISU bio lists his hobby as "shooting range." I hope Semen will be a shooting star on the ice in future seasons to come!!!!

I guess it helps keep your body straight when jumping... although it did start as a highlight to get more GOE on a jump. Then everyone and their dog started doing it so they took it out of the bullet points list, I think?

I can't remember where the interview was posted so I can't quote him directly but he has said that the rippons helped him stabilize his jump axis

Interesting. I've seen a few skaters do it with one or two jumps, but not all of them. If it helps them to land their jumps, then go for it.
