Costume reveals are a fun and unusual tool to help interpret your music and personal story.
How many can you remember? Who did it first?

The first one I think may be Mishkutionok/Dmitriev at 1994 Goodwill Games in the final moments of their free skate.

Let’s have some fun with this! Share your favorites and notoriously bad ones…

That (the Krylova & Ovsiannikov) is one delightfully bizarre dance! Is she pulling his heart out of his chest at the end?

For a minute I thought the title meant when the skaters take off their jackets in warmup! {ahem}

My favourite may be at a show rather than competition but really Anna Pogorilaya's Rise Like a Phoenix has to be mentioned, the sheer perfect smoothness, the way it powers into the music and wow factor is hard to beat.

This is one of my favorite reveals. Bravo for being exceptionally well done!

Zhenya Medvedeva's Parole Parole will always be my favourite of the kind, I love the changeover, and the way it fits so naturally into the story making the point .. ;)

Eva Pate & Logan Bye FD to "Hunger Games" (black to red)

Anna Shcherbakova FS to "Firebird" (blue to red)

I am sure there have been some in galas but none are coming to my mind right now.

Also, the ones I can think of easily are women changing dress colors. It's harder for me to think of men with costume changes.

A favorite exhibition from this season

More favorites!

If exhibitions count, what about Scott Hamilton's "I Love Me" (the "lounge lizard" one) & "Hair?"

This one was over the top costume and music. I recall seeing the flashing lights on the pants.
I never stopped smiling and laughing.

My favorite male costume reveal is still Paul Poirier’s fluffy flamenco sleeves. And it always seemed to me that he skated the second part of the program (once the sleeves were fully engaged) with extra oomph, seemingly enjoying the experience!

I’m hoping there is still video of this up somewhere.

I am not sure which one was the first one but this might be well (one of) the most recent ones.
Yuzuru Hanyu in Carmina Burana at the Notte Stellata show this March 8-10.

I remember that one. We saw Piper & Paul perform that program @ 2017 Skate America in Lake Placid, NY.
