Okay, what the ISU didn't mention when hawking their new youbeaut channel was that they were going to make us watch informercials (and not about the skaters we are here to watch) with a lot.... of.... very.... generic... and... clearly... manufactured.... pr.... talk.

Aren't they still resurfacing the ice? Or is the third warm-up group on the ice right now and we're missing it?

Pretty neat to see a chap on the NZ Synchro team though!

Wait back to live pictures and no warm-up group yet!
 
Oh wow I've just come back from catching up and the 3rd group is still not on the ice?

They could still give us some info about the actual skaters skating today. And make the puff pieces less tediously mediaspeak.
 
After catching up, I'd like to say, a lot of nice dresses, and one which stands out, which wasn't interchangeable

Mao and Sarina looked quite solid for the beginning of the season. I'm going to watch Julija. Good to have an interesting skater from Slovenia

Plus some nice suprises music-wise.

Oh yeah, I see. Hmm that would be interesting! And something I remember from last season... Maybe next week they'll have interviews and stuff.

Aha skaters are taking the ice!

Althought there were no withdrawals, they got through the first two groups quicker than planned. So, the resurfacing was early, and then there was a wait until the scheduled time for the Group 3 Warm-Up.

Which was a good thing for me, because I had planned to do stuff during the resurfacing, but didn't realise they were going to be showing videos.

I've never really noticed it before, but it struck me here that Annika has a sense of poise and calm that's really nice to see. She seems comfortable with this program in every sense of the word.

(The orange airbrushing is not my favorite choice in the world, but this is easily overlooked :laugh:)

(Is...is it actually AnNIka with the stress on the second syllable? Or is that just Ted Pronunciation?)
