2024 CS Lombardia Trophy Men's FS

i am not happy about ilia now having the best PCS over this field. There are quite a few skaters who have better components than him.
I am willing to give him kudos for his intensity in his performance but that's just one aspect of it. In my world, Ilia is 10 points lower in PCS than Yuma.
He'd still win it... it doesn't matter. He should win it... but i will never agree with this kind of scoring... and no, I am not anti-Ilia. I am anti giving him things he doesn't yet deserve... that's all :)

I think it's funny that people felt the need to reply to this and make sure everyone was aware of their dislike of Ilia
I think the reverse would've produced the same effect, write "I don't think anybody loves (skater)" and you will definitely get heated responses. People just like expressing their likes and dislikes on the internet, it's why this forum exists
Also a valid opinion.
All opinions except hateful ones are valid, aren't they?

For the record, it's fine for people to dislike skaters and express hateful opinions, I'm not bothered by them unless the person is being deliberately cruel and going too far. But likewise, it's fine for me to express my opinion on those posts

Amen! I don't dislike Ilia; he has amazing qualities and I don't mind his short program even though I hate the music. This program is empty and embarrassing. I'm not going to stomp my feet in anger out of the scoring at an event in September and risk another stress fracture, but if this becomes a trend I may need a stronger pair of orthopedic shoes by worlds.

I know some people say that segments of Ilia program are empty and that is valid point but also remember this program announcement came out very late basically on the eve of Lombardia he may have done his first full run throughs of it just this weekend so he not had a chance to polish it up and add to it because it did have fewer jumps than he usually does so give it a chance to simmer some and let's see how it looks at Skate America because this program is giving me chills and goosebumps already this program could be one greats that we talk about in figure skating.

Jimmys skate was as psychedelic as his shirt: A clean skate :cheer2::cheer2:

Jimmy, cleaaan???
This is pretty much what he did at Cranberry from looking at the protocols. (Not like I got to see it or anything). He skates his free much better than his short. There wasn’t as much competition at Cranberry so he moved from 7th (I think) to 3rd.

Lol, 312 at Challengers comp. Lord have mercy.

I went from hating Ilia's music last Monday to being in LOVE with this free skate. Go on, world champ, give us all the drama and death and blood. I'd like to see him be a bit more emotionally into it in the 1st half, but fine, quads are still hard, I guess. I could see him lip syncing to the lyrics by Nationals. Personally, I think this is way more fun and cool than Succession and fits him way better. This might become my favorite Ilia program by the end. Ditch the vest. Keep the bloody white shirt. Although, it sounds like he already has a 2nd costume ready.

i haven't had a chance to watch Yuma or Shun's programs yet, but as much as I love Ilia, there ain't no way that there's only a 0.05 difference between them in skating skills. Yuma is a solid 9.5+ and Ilia is probably 8.75-9.00. I think the other two PCS marks (composition, presentation) could go either way though, so I'm not surprised that the PCS difference is getting closer and closer.

OK, I've watched Yuma and Shun now, and Shun was glorious. He has the best SP and LP choreo and composition out of the whole field, IMO. I'd love to see him go to Worlds, and I think he could threaten for a World medal in March with these programs. I would have had him ahead of Yuma in both segments, and if he can up his TES, Yuma needs to watch out at Nationals. Yuma's program was OK. Great steps as always, but also a bit empty in the 1st half. I'm sure it will grow. Wasn't feeling the all-black costume.

Fun to see Matteo in the front row. Hope he's fully recovered from his injury now.

Congrats to all the medalists and I'm so happy for Ilia!

His FS music did grow on me.
Me too when first heard the selection and saw video for it I thought that he had lost his mind. It was shocking and dark, but as I read some of the comments I started realizing that this could be fun. I am shocked that Shea-lynn went along with this and kept some of lyrics of the song in there including the one said he going to take us all to hell. Skate America is going to be so entertaining watching as Terry, Tara, and Johnny try to explain Ilia program to the audience at home. This program though if Ilia does as well as I think he could it could be epic one of those Legendary programs that we will always remember it just seems to power to do that.
