Ah, Sofi KARAPETYAN (ARM) is coached by Gegham Vardanyan. I wonder if he is is anything to Gurgen Vardanyan, best known for coaching Júlia Sebestyén.

I remember Gurgen when appearing on the BBC children's series "Ice Stars", when he was coaching in Nottingham. I didn't take to him.

Wikipedia says that Gurgen has a son called Tigran who skated for Hungary. But he is a year younger than Gegham, who skated for Armenia.

Anyway, Sofia goes into 10th position.

Aw, shame about the flip... What a great skate still. This version of Paint it Black really suits her, she has a magnetic, strong presence on the ice. Love this girl !

Yihan has impressive speed in her spins, particularly the layback and her camel spin. Lovely 3Lz-3T.

Yup, 조선족(chaoxianzu)! She has gone training in Korea several times since last year, with coach Park in Jia's former group

So that's what happened our next door neighbour! I noticed a couple of weeks ago that she now had a black front door, when it used to be white!

Come to think of it, our garage door used to be brown, but it has been black for around 10 years now. Did the Rolling Stones and their apprentices hit us years ago without me noticing?

Yihan Wang gave a very serious, intense skate to Paint It Black with strong edges and spins. She didn't have as much speed as the last time I saw her on her step sequence. Very well balanced skater that will send everyone home to work on their spins some more.
