2024 Grand Prix de France Women's Short Program

That was the best 3+3 I've seen from Mai in years. I loved the smile on the exit too. She was struggling with it in practice, but everything seems to have clicked for her here. That flip pop is absolutely tragic, though - a fall is less costly on your score than a pop. I love this program, it is so gorgeous and subtle, and her expression throughout. Mai is so good at using her whole body, especially her neck and head, to express the music.

Go out with smile, smile after your jumps and then pop 3F into 2 Flip in such beautiful performance.Perfect presentation of "Grief" 🤣 .Still delicate and soft skate as always.Hard to dislike someone who is going always with such smile on the ice. And somehow she is 25 btw while looking like 16-18 😅

There was great musicality in the spins, but this is not the program I saw a few months ago despite that she was cleaner here.

Ooh, nice eye makeup for Mai. Her dress is lovely as well. She is so floaty and soft across the ice, and flips aren't real. I really love how expressive she is with her whole body when she performs - the little arch in the upper back as she opens her arms out in celebration of her 3Lz-3T, the way she makes good use of her upper body in the step sequence, even through to her head. There is nothing static about her skating, she is dynamic and graceful.
