The 93nd All Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships (第93回全日本フィギュアスケートジュニア選手権大会) also known as the 2024 Japanese Junior National Figure Skating Championships, will take place Nov 15-17, 2024, in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima. Top placing skaters in the single's categories will be invited to the Nationals.

Since there was so much confusion last year surrounding decisions made in regards to Senior National recommendations I thought I’d try to clarify some points prior to the start of this competition

Providing no changes are made to previous procedures~

• Junior Men and Junior Women placing within top 8 of their discipline will receive federation funding for the 2025~26 season
• They will also be considered for a recommendation to compete at the upcoming "Senior" National Championship
• A recommendation is NOT guaranteed and dependent on decisions made by the federation
• Novice skaters who happen to finish within top 8 are not age eligible to participate in Senior Nationals but are able to receive funding
• Mao Shimada’s podium placement at Senior Nationals last year automatically qualifies her a spot to compete in this year's Championship
• If Mao and/or a Novice competitor(s) finish within top 8 of either Singles discipline, the federation will then decide whether or not to extend a Senior Nationals invitation to the next skater in line (9th place and so forth) in order to fill the spots allotted for recommended Juniors
• If a skater placing lower than 8th at Junior Nationals is invited to compete in Senior Nationals, they will need to place within top 12 at Senior Nationals to receive federation funding for the following season

Currently unsure if there will be anyone bootleg streaming this competition on qq or any other platform
If I become aware of any free, non region blocked streams I will share a link in this thread

I'm guessing a digest highlighting the top skaters from each discipline (at least Singles) might be aired later but since you're most interested in watching the Women's performances this is actually some good news?

Actually, this might be an excellent time to get re aquainted with Himawari before senior nats. Since there is a 2-4 week replay watch on demand feature, I can watch it on demand the next week. Thanks! copy and pasting this into a doc.

I think it is possible but I dont know how. I have never tried it. Watching nationals on Himawari by channel jumping from 5 to 24 to 66, thanks to the wonderful Japan fans here publishing what event is shown on what channel at what time and having all channels live and on demand for weeks is what I have done in the past. Once you get used to how to buy time (take notes) and how to use the interface, Himawari isnt too bad. Dont know if FOD is on demand or not.

FOD is region blocked, so after overcoming the language barrier and the payment barrier, we also need to pay and set up the VPN that allows the FOD to be watched after subscription. IIRC not all VPN can allow FOD to be watched, Nord is usually the safe bet.

I think FS fans used to geo block nowadays. You can use VPN.

I think FS fans used to foreign language nowadays. You can use machine translation.

But I agree accumulation of these factor made it difficult.
