2024 CS Tallinn Trophy Rhythm Dance

What on Earth did I just watch?!

I think I just found the answer to this question that I asked on Sunday after watching Lou TERREAUX / Noe PERRON's FD at the Ice Challenge:

What is going on with French Ice Dance?! Where is the weirdness?!

🤖 Robots at the start. Ra-Ra-Rasputin later on.

Yep, Evgeniia LOPAREVA / Geoffrey BRISSAUD have taken both partnership's quota of weirdness!

They go into the lead.

Maybe it's a good job I'm heading over to Dortmund shortly. I need to recover!

Evgeniia and Geoffrey are engaging and dynamic with their dance. Love that they find interesting music to meet the theme even if I find the robot parts a bit jarring.

Oh those Russians gets me every time. I find myself enjoying this crazy dance. It is so well skated and breaks the mold of the other dances. Bravo for its originality and solid skating.

I think they are always conscious that they are siblings team, so they err on the side of conservative.
I respect that choice, but do think she needs a light hearted ponytail which would be more the style of the times. A bun seems too borscht for the Beatles.

I am pleased to see a solid skate for Holly & Jason today. I focused on him today as he often gets lower levels. This is a team that can rise or fall with those levels, particularly the solo step sequence. Good job to finish above Wolk/Tsar today.

Carolane and Shane have not done better since skating for IRL. They still are ending up in the bottom half of most events they enter with a lot of teams passing them by.

Back from watching one of my kids in Dortmund in time to watch two of my kids!

(Somewhat appropriately, the skater I was watching in Dortmund was Anna-Flora Colmor Jepsen, the younger sister of Sofía's first Ice Dance partner, Linus Colmor Jepsen).

Sofía and Asaf were the first out onto the ice. He was in his costume, but she is wearing a blue jacket. But it wasn't on for long,

Saw them practicing their steps.

They weren't actually in camera shot that much. So it's hard to know how they were looking.

But we are going to find out now.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST SOFÍA AND ASAF!!! :cheer:

They are a classic team, waltz is their best rhythm.
I am convinced that the RD themes are derailing their progress more than anything.

Long wait for the music to start.

But once it did, they were straight into it!

No synchronicity issues with the Twizzles. They were beautiful!

The writing in the TES Box is far too small (they could learn something from the NRW Trophy), so I'll just say that everything after that was beautiful too!

Kirill with them.

Don't know if there is anything interesting going on in the results area because my Dad has come in and stuck his phone in front of my face and is playing a video on it that could keep until later. I hate it when he does that.

They go into 6th position.

I thought it was better than that! So with that in mind:

:cheer: WELL DONE SOFÍA AND ASAF!!! :cheer:
