Also, it looks like Katherine might have put herself in the running to be on alternate list for GP selection for Olympic season. Her and Uliana have high enough scores to be on that top ten alternate list

Katherine (I will not call her KMS, for reasons obvious to people who are chronically online) is currently sitting in 38th and Uliana in 44th on the SB list. There are a number of Jr skaters ahead of them and at least one of the Sr-eligible Japanese women is unlikely to receive any spots, so they could even get assignments off the bat (Katherine at least, last season it went down to 42nd I think?).

Obviously, still one Challenger, 4CC, Euros, Worlds and Jr Worlds to come, but not a bad position to be in at all.

I'd left it on in the background whilst I was doing my grocery order, but the fanfare never started!

I've just watched, and Katherine still looked a bit stunned. They didn't show the lap of honour, though.

It was. Canadian national anthem is one of my favourites, especially with that grande orchestral arrangement. But my favourite version (more out of sentiment) has to be from Montreal Worlds when choir sang it. Brought me to tears, as a foreigner!

I (almost) did it - with one hand on the wall to keep balance. Hip is ok, but my back hurts...

I think Katherine skates really well for where she is at given this is her first senior international. She will improve a ton with more experience however I will critique it now haha. I feel she may of been a bit over marked. Maybe her scores reflected the quality of everyone else that skated. If she skated that in a GP event I dont think she would have had over 120 in the free skate. She seemed a bit disconnected to the music in my opinion. I feel that she was thinking too much about the elements and what is coming next. If she can learn to separate the two I think she could be onto something special. Nice speed in the program, can work on more difficult transitions when comfortable with it and work on smoother landings that dont have such archs on the end.
