Horrible tragedy. My condolences to the families and friends of the victims. So sad
No, it's not complete. Yes, Jin Han and Christine Lane were onboard.I have seen different numbers for the skaters, coaches, and parents onboard. Perhaps some of the discrepancy comes from some counts including parents and some not. Skating Club of Boston confirmed that the mothers of Spencer Lane and Jinna Han were onboard, and that would bring the skating related total to 13. Is there confirmation that this list is complete? I hope so

Oh.Unfortunately, there seems to be additional victims beyond the list you are referencing. While not an official release, it does seem to be legitimate. My apologies if it's not.

I have been checking social media for signs of life from skaters who were at the camp and may have been traveling that way.
NOT onboard the doomed flight: Jean-Luc Baker, Olivia Ilin, Dylan Cain, Kirk Haugeto, Skylar Lautowa-Peguero and her mother Julia. There was a claim earlier (verified or not?) that none of the nationals competitors were on that flight. But I’ll include here that Sarah Everhardt has checked in.

I was on goldenskate in its primary years and I don’t often blog now!,, but I do keep in touch with goldenskate and fsuniverse, this is so gut wrenching, my condolences to all the families and friends of the skating community, this is the time we all get together , we are all family right!,, I skated around the time Nancy and shishkova and naumov were skating , so this is my era!,, , I was watching Nancy and Tanley from the the ice academy in Boston and was with them in all the grief and standing together !, I just can’t believe it tbh!,, I’m so in grief at this moment , RIP

Thank you for coming back to be with your skating family. So many of us here today were heartbroken as well with the loss of these beautiful, talented young people, parents and coaches.OMG!,,

Yes. One of the reasons why I say that Sabena airline tragedy changed the course of figure skating, in part helping bring it to the gobal community we see today, is because international coaches, including John Nicks, Carlo Fassi, et al., came to the U.S. to serve as coaches. In the process, they helped rebuild U.S. figure skating. I am sure we will see similar comings together among the U.S. figure skating community as a whole and other federations and individuals doing all they can to help the families and the Skating Club of Boston*.This crash is horribly reminiscent of the February 14, 1961 plane crash in Belgium, killing all on board,
including the US figure skating team on their way to the World Competition in Prague.
Among those killed were famous American coach Maribel Vinson Owen, her rising star daughter Laurence, and coach Edie Scholdan.
It took years for US figure skating to recover from the loss of these talented and promising skaters and their coaches.

The quiver in his voice is making me tear up. He speaks about his wife in the present tense... which I believe is common among people who lose loved ones suddenly. God bless this man.

@Magill mentioned earlier in this thread that Jon Maravilla did not board the plane because his dog was not allowed to fly with him. I don't know if this is confirmed, but that's what I was referencing in my earlier post. Fate that he was not aboard, if this described incident about his dog is true.He has never planned to be there.

The incident with the dog is true, but he was scheduled to be on an entirely different flight.

A report claimed Jon Maravilla’s dog being too big kept him off the doomed American Airlines flight. In reality, it kept him from boarding a plane bound for Atlanta.

He mentioned having a younger adopted child, too. May they be comforted and strengthened in their loss by undying memories of their loved ones who will remain close to them in spirit.

I always enjoyed seeing Max with his father in the kiss'n cry. Max favors his Dad so much. The CEO of the Boston club spoke sadly of how lovely both of his parents are, and how his mom, Genia, was never in the kiss'n cry because it was hard for her to watch Max skate (like it is for so many parents -- it's heart-in-mouth watching those you love compete).

Um okay. Not sure the relevance or why it was even brought up but everyone is touchy, emotional, this is a sad day. It doesn't matterr these were not the biggest American skaters or even that there were former word champs - these were real people on this flight some not even anything to do with skating and their lives are tragically llost forever in a horrible accident. RIP and 67 or whatever people. Wew many not know you or some of you but your lives do matter. To the skating community - please heal and share the love with those hurting.
