Getting some rest and thinking about the interaction from Shoma's perspective has has led me to some acceptance of the situation. However, my first show report will be about Keiji Tanaka, please look forward to it in Keiji's thread!

Glad to hear you feel a bit better. If it some kind of comfort, you at least made an effort! I on the other hand had Shoma and Demi walk beside me, heading towards the shuttle bus outside the Palavela after a practice session at the GPF 22 - no other ppl there than Shun and Kao runnig around and not finding the bus ( ) and Sota a bit behind - and, as I vented in this forum then, I wasn't even able to get out a 'good luck'! In English!(To either if them!)

While still being annoyed by myself, I realise not much in my or his life would have changed for the better had I found the courage. The competition went alright anyway, I'd say! Now, I cherish the memory of having seen him skate live that one competition.

Sorry that I managed to do this about me. What I wanted to say is, I feel you but at least you are brave and a very supportive fan!

I tend to be that way as a fan too, with regards to relating the events of others to those within my own experiences. Those types of near misses are well-understood, even though I have never seen the Palavela before and wouldn't know where the shuttle bus area is! This is coming from someone who has had some serious near misses with regards to getting Shoma's autograph.

I don't believe I have shared this particular near miss before, but there was one point in time where I didn't approach Shoma outside of the rink at Skate Canada '22 because I thought I had already obtained his autograph when in fact the autograph was Kao's (the large amount of people surrounding Shoma there was also concerning).

Anyone who got to see Shoma skate in person, try to talk to him and possibly get a picture with him is so lucky. I wish I could. I could have back then when he was training at a rink, but I didn’t know about him at that time and I wasn’t around. I know a lot of people who have met him and they all say he was so nice and real and genuine. Perhaps I’ll never get a chance. If I did though, I would want to say something really important to him in Japanese and possibly ask for a picture.

I think it depends on what you personally feel as a fan. I'm the kind of fan who really really really don't want my favorites to notice me or recognize me so I'm very comfortable not having any direct interactions and just have some good distance as a fan.

I didn't know where the bus was going to be either I just went to get out of the area the same way I went in, which apparently was the back entrance. But I had no issues getting in. It was strange. I imagine there might have been an autograph area inside the arena or closer to the rink exit, but I never looked for it.

Ah, yes it is typical that those kind of near misses happens. But not to shabby to have gotten Kao's autograph

I’m just a huge fan I guess because he is my favorite and always will be no matter what, but even if I never meet him in person, I’ll always love him and support him in everything he does. I can tell from past photos, videos and discussions interacting with fans especially ones that don’t speak Japanese makes him really nervous. I don’t blame him. I’d be the same way if I was him.

A couple more observations before I leave Japan: I went to the Nagoya Sports Center again while I was there and it was incredibly crowded!

Today I made a souvenir ramen cup at the Cup Noodles Museum in Yokohama, I couldn't help but draw a Shoma on it, lol.

It was that way going there, only about 9-10 hours going back! The Cup Noodles Museum is indeed fun. You can add one of four flavors and 4 out of 12 toppings to your souvenir ramen cup! There's also a food hall with vendors selling noodles from around the world! Unfortunately that museum was all I was able to get to in Yokohama before recovering a lost jacket and going to the airport. Haneda airport is a nice airport! It was a little bit bumpy on the way back, but I'm back!
