It's easier to learn how to pronounce someone's name better, as I think that's what Chris and Ted get clowned on for, than change your voice. A lot of women feel insecure with their voices - women with naturally higher-pitched voices are oftentimes taken less seriously in the workplace for something that you can't change easily. Personally, I really hate forcing someone to change an aspect about themselves to be socially acceptable - if someone's voice is grating to you, I think we should keep that as an inside thought and not blast people on the Internet, and not encourage people to go through vocal training to sound more masculine. I don't think you had any bad intentions with this post, but this is something that I think women experience more struggles with this and thus have a different perspective. Can a voice be changed ? the answer is yes.. but it requires training. One can learn to recenter their tessitura.
As a matter of fact, most people speak differently in different languages. My voice is much lower in English... language I learned as an adult.
Should she do that ? No.
I don't personally like her voice and saying so it fine as long as it's not meant as an insult...
I much prefer the voice of Kaetlyn Osmond for instance... but I prefer KMT"s commentary 9 times out of 10
I think it's fair to mention it in this way...
Now, I guess many fans are picking on commentators (including myself) Ted's pronunciation, Chris's bingo card comments, some commentators biases or voices..
Isn't it part of the game ?
They are broadcasters so you want someone who can enunciate well, insightful, smooth broadcasting voice, objective (don't want an ISU company hype man/woman). Simon Reed fits this bill perfectly. Can a voice be changed ? the answer is yes.. but it requires training. One can learn to recenter their tessitura.

You'd be surprised about this. Some sounds are just as hard to learn as recentering your tessitura. I am serious about thisIt's easier to learn how to pronounce someone's name better, as I think that's what Chris and Ted get clowned on for, than change your voice
I agree. She shouldn't have to change it, nor should anyone. I am just saying that it is possible because it was mentioned as something completely impossible to do.. I have heard commentators say that Lilah was born in Canada.Does the ISU tell the commentators to mention where they were born if they were born in Russia but skate for another country? They seem to do it 90% of the time. I don't recall anyone saying here is Lilah Fear born in Canada...
if you play hockey you don't trim nor shave during playoffs ... so maybe it's good for figure skaters or not.Jackie Wong said on practice that he thought Roman got a haircut since yesterday
Good or Bad my Canadian friends?
I don't mind giving up the second spot for men... as long as we keep the three spots in pairs and maybe if i am greedy, get the second spot in womenReally wanting to manifest clean skating from Sadovsky and Selevko. I would like to see 2 men representing Canada and Estonia at the Olympics next season. I know the likelihood of both of them being in the top 10 is very slim, so if I must choose, then I want Selevko to do it. His brother, Sasha Selevko, is one of my favorite skaters and I miss him here.
