Congrats to Misha for the silver!
Now waiting for the Kazakh Ministry of Tourism and Sport to come up not just with a nice reel but also with a more substantial expression of acknowledgement and support!! When I was watching, the commentator would say he still had to pay for plane tickets to get to competitions himself (actually his parents did) not so long ago, so little was the official support! I hope this is gonna change now, and for good, and substantially!
And, yes, Misha, this iconic move with your head as you're starting the FS has been noted, recognized and appreciated by the proper fandom (which you are a part of ;)) :rock::rock:

I came late on here, but I came:biggrin: I'm so happy for Misha, his perfomances were the real excellence, such a power and a self confident character of the greatest winners!! he deserved the medal so much and now he's the second promising best skater for the Olympics!! He has aldready a shiny present and now he's going to have a brighter future coming soon!!:love::love::love:

Actually all interviews Misha ever given were in Russian.

Speaking about this one, it's sad to see that not much changed in Kazakhstani Fed.

Addition about lacking ice trainings and other problems.

I think maybe there needs to be a little explanation as there seems to be some confusion about languages - Kazakh is the official language of independent Kazakhstan. Yet Russian also has the status of an "official language" there as it is spoken not just by the Russian minority but also by many other ethnic minorities, and by older ethnic Kazakhs, too, next to their different native tongues, as it was the official language of the Soviet Union, imposed on all the citizens then. Actually Kazakhstan, in particular its northern parts with the harsh Siberian climate, was the destination where Soviets for decades would send political prisoners, or just those they perceived as likely to rebel due to their ethnicity, religion, political beliefs or simply quality education which was not going well with the simplistic propaganda of the times. Some groups were basically resettled to Kazakhstan to perish there in the difficult climate. Hence minorities in Kazakhstan are really very numerous if small, many of them descendants of those sent there forcibly or as prisoners, who with time adopted the land as their homeland, being the second or third generation born there. They never learnt to speak Kazakh, they learnt Russian which was the official language then, and it sort of stayed this way, as Kazakh is a language of Turkish group, and not easy at all. Hence the confusion of Kazakh press publishing interviews with Mikhail in Russian.
I'm not sure but I think they now all learn Kazakh in public schools, so it might change with time.

I made this video out of literally only a clip of Misha making a 4T-3T (the sound and video is all from this). It is the only jump in tons of programs I looked at of any skaters that has this quality of being both beatifully mic'ed and on a quiet part, but also its a nice way to appreciate how really gorgeous his jumps are, right???
