he started it!You two cease and desist. My stomach should not be in this much pain this early.

we missed each other so muchYou two cease and desist. My stomach should not be in this much pain this early.
They really took the worse nocturne and removed the best part of it... but you know... it's okay.. better than other things we hear around hereSince it's Zamboni time and I need to distract myself: I have no idea why the violin cover of Chopin's Nocturne Op. 20 is always preferred over the superior piano original in FS (the resigned disappointment I felt when Jia gave an interview about how she loves her SP's 'lyrical violin sounds' despite my love for her), and also why is Op. 20 literally the only Nocture ever used, like I need Op. 8 to be a warhorse right now
Clearly.we missed each other so much![]()
1) as others said, Jia has a good reputationShe has no reputation though and nearly 32 BAM! right off the bat whereas I had to listen to people last season tell me Samo was worth the 23 or 24 she received because of no reputation.
Same old thing double standards right?
With the exception of Chaeyeon Kim and sometimes You Young, I tend to find all the Korean lasses rather similar in terms of programmes and style. Chaeyeon I really like because she has the technical skills whilst also being an individual.Quite a nice skate the popped combo is the only reason they will place her behind Samo, but I have always liked her in juniors.
Although this program does feel like all her other programs skating to sad violin music or something along those lines. I would like to see her branch out but maybe best to keep it to what she knows in the Olympic year

Oh of course, I will gladly take violin Chopin Nocturne Op. 20 a hundred times over Tommee Profitt's Elvis from the nine circles of hell, but I will takeThey really took the worse nocturne and removed the best part of it... but you know... it's okay.. better than other things we hear around here

I don't agree with what you are saying but there are no facts here.. just speculation. Judges are not going to think that Jia or Samo or whomever should get higher PCS because someone else wouldn't be able to skate their program ... they evaluate what they see. Jia expressed the nocturne exquisitely and got points for that and other things that are very objective like skating skills.Samo was just in a test skates costume, but I liked her expressiveness, it was a successful skate, it was a unique program. Shin skated a variation of what she has done each year in juniors, although I did enjoy her performance and think she was even a cut above Shimada in terms of PCS in juniors.
I think you could give Samo an unimaginative program to sad music and she could perform it well, but you couldn't give Samo's program to Jian Shin I don't think that kind of program is within her capabilities.
Not hating on Jia Shin -- she really is great, but defending Samo.
And Jia will still have better skating skills. Samo may get better presentation, that's all. There is no need to defend anyone this way, especially someone who wasn't harmed in any way - at least today.Samo was just in a test skates costume, but I liked her expressiveness, it was a successful skate, it was a unique program. Shin skated a variation of what she has done each year in juniors, although I did enjoy her performance and think she was even a cut above Shimada in terms of PCS in juniors.

1/ Petrosian is basically undefeated for two years (now 2.5) in the toughest senior competition on the planet, is there not a better good reputation than that? I look forward to the Olympic live threads where you justify the judges burying her.1) as others said, Jia has a good reputation
2) PCS are not about reputation "only". It's actually a great thing to see a skater who skates the way Jia does get rewarded for what she puts on the ice.
just to clarify.. you mean number 20 and number 8.... Opus numbers are completely different animals.Oh of course, I will gladly take violin Chopin Nocturne Op. 20 a hundred times over Tommee Profitt's Elvis from the nine circles of hell, but I will take Op. 8 a thousand times over Op. 20...![]()
Beause, you know, it's a crime to skate a program that showcases skater's ablilities, not the program that won't suit their style. Duh...I don't agree with what you are saying but there are no facts here.. just speculation. Judges are not going to think that Jia or Samo or whomever should get higher PCS because someone else wouldn't be able to skate their program ... they evaluate what they see. I like Chaeyeon too and really admire what she's done. Just a couple years back it was criminal the way they held back her scores. She overcame it all despite how much they tried to discourage her. With the exception of Chaeyeon Kim and sometimes You Young, I tend to find all the Korean lasses rather similar in terms of programmes and style. Chaeyeon I really like because she has the technical skills whilst also being an individual.
Firstly, for reputation it doesn't matter who was missing at a competition, and certainly also not why. The judges only know the skaters they see, and they can only see who skates. They can also only see the results skaters actually received, not what anyone thinks they should have received. Two JGPs from 4 years ago are not going to cut it, no matter the scores someone received back then.Silver medals in a depleted competition missing the best skaters in the world. Samo was getting similar scores in the JGP, and that's before the current era of score inflation were Shimada gets higher PCS than Valieva in juniors.
I have brought shame on myself and my GS reputation, thank goodness you know what I meantjust to clarify.. you mean number 20 and number 8.... Opus numbers are completely different animals.
my favourite nocturne is opus 48 no1... or number 13
