Lunch time for me. Will you stay up for Jr Men SP?
Not sure, it's 10 pm here and my boy goes to the summer camp tomorrow morning, I just finished frantic search for clean and proper size undies to pack. We just came back from vacation and I think I may have done my undies math wrong...

Don't forget the name tags.

Kaya TIERNAN USA 50.31 - into 1st

Music: "When Somebody Loved Me"

Tech:
3T-3T
LSp
3Lo (super tilted but good landing)
2A (again, super tilted but good landing)
FCCoSp
StSq
CCoSp

Notes:
Kaya is a lovely skater and this was a solid performance, but WOW was I scared for some of her jumps. She's got a very tilted axis...makes it work, and her landings were good, but still a little scary. Still, she seems to have nice basics and is very pleasant to watch, so I'm hoping she gets a little more recognition going forwards!

Kaya used the opportunity she was given. She had some issues on the spins but she landed her jumps, even with the wild axis.

Sophie Joline VON FELTEN USA 62.21 - into 1st

Music:
I Will Never Abandon You by Efisio Cross
Cassiopeia by Jonathon Deering & Ros Stephen

Tech:
3A-3T<? (axel was lovely, 3T looked a little bit under)
2A (bit tilted, fine landing)
CCoSp
3Lo
StSq
FSSp (last position got a little wobbly)
LSp

Is it just me, or has Sophie gotten a lot taller? If so, good on her for keeping the jumps up and running. She has lovely lines, so I would like to see a bit more extension. (You can see the extension she's capable of in her layback and it's so lovely!) I can tell she's worked on presentation, but at this stage in her career, jumps are definitely still the emphasis.

Beautiful dress :)

Nitpicky, but I would love for Sophie Joline to finish her movement as much with her legs as she does with her upper body and arms. Pointed toes and full leg extensions really can transform the look of a skater.

Also, her scores are easily swayed by the strictness of the tech panel currently. Her jumps are big, but her rotational speed is not as high as always needed, especially if the jump is a bit lower than usual.

Iyla's dress is beautiful! Sorry she had to withdraw. **Oops this is Camila the Canadian skater.

Camila VOLKOVA CAN 42.60 - into 3rd

(The girl who was supposed to skate in this spot, Iyla Wilson, apparently no-showed and was considered withdrawn...no clue what happened.)

Music: "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri

Tech:
3T (fall)
2A
CCoSp (really cool twizzle entrance!)
3Lo<
FSSp
StSq

Notes:
Camila has beautiful extension and presentation, but it wasn't quite her day with the jumps. They're a little tight and telegraphed; seems like they might need a little time. She has a nice foundation but isn't quite as fast across the ice as the previous girls, which I think would help a lot with the jumps feeling tight/hesitant.
