Isabeau into the lead. But I am not convinced. That Flip was very hunchback-y and no Lutz! Instead we got a UR Loop.
She needs to get those Flips and Lutzes done to be in top contention this season.

I just watched again the loop is definitely a solid q at a minimum, definitely an underrotation at a minimum on the 3T. Almost a downgrade in fact.

Even I missed it first time around, so no I don't think her jumps have improved. She looked great on the ice though, that's maybe why we overlook these egregious flaws.

Silver medals in a depleted competition missing the best skaters in the world. Samo was getting similar scores in the JGP, and that's before the current era of score inflation were Shimada gets higher PCS than Valieva in juniors.

Depleted? Isn't Mao Shimada one of the best skaters in the World right now?

My girlie Minchae is (again) recovering and I didn't expect much from her first competition of the season, so a skate without falls and/or pops is definitely a win, that sit spin is definitely not going to be valid though... Her La Boheme is a good fit for her and I just want her to be healthy and to have a new dress, the black dress is beautiful but my girl Tango de Amor is very different from La Boheme and your costume should reflect that, thus you can't recycle your Tango de Amor dress for La Boheme, s'il te plait

She has no reputation though and nearly 32 BAM! right off the bat whereas I had to listen to people last season tell me Samo was worth the 23 or 24 she received because of no reputation.

Didn't Sofia get a 29 PCS? I agree it should have been a bit higher but she is still above Jia in the standings.

At least it’s kind of consistent with the plunging front, though? Unlike Paul’s cutout back, which was completely random.

I always enjoy Brooke's attention to detail in her choreo - but sadly her jumps hold her back. I think she has a future in packaging or doing choreo and any exposure is good for her.
