Even stranger. He is sick, he has already well in advance requested the French Fed not to broadcast his skates... why taking part at all in the Masters?

It's not like this is a crucial live or die competition. And no matter how bad the skates actually were /will be, the fact that he specifically asked the French Fed in advance not to broadcast them in my opinion leaves a much worse and weaker impression of him to potential competitors (his French competitors actually must have seen the skates live anyway, except if the public was asked to leave, which would have been even more drastic). I mean, in my view, this is more reputational harmful and drives way more negative attention to him.
All this "drama" is very far from the best way to start the season for Adam, especially if he does indeed have any ambition to get a medal in the Olympics...
