2025 JGP Bangkok Women's Short Program

I think they are trying to position her as the next superstar in Japan. Cute (and pink) is probably a good choice for that.
it's 2025, everywhere else they're trying to promote a different version of youth and femininity, it wouldn't hurt if japan tried the same thing, they might even have more success than they think
 
Seems like Darja from Finland is the only girl from the whole group who has no skating touch with Russia (at least no touch I am aware of).
She has relatives in Estonia. ( I just came home so that's why I saw this now)

Hey, I agree (I didn't like the cutesy costume either) but look at the little girl characters in anime. And to be fair, maybe it's what Mao herself feels comfortable in. Next year when she turns senior they may have to change the image.

C'mon, it's pink but it has big Paul Poirier inspired cigarrette hole at the back - I think we can count it as progressive :P
