FYI: The time converter link directs to 10 am Saturday - Beijing time. This starts at 6 pm Beijing time Friday. I was panicking because the link suggested it would start 4 am CEST Saturday morning, but I was sure I had figured out it would begin on 12 pm Friday - so perfect time for Europeans.

OK, I learned something. Individual neutral athletes. AIN. So this is how Russian skaters will qualify for the Olympics.

Figure skating for AIN means competing as an Individual Neutral Athlete. The designation was created by the International Skating Union (ISU) to allow certain eligible Russian and Belarusian athletes to qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics, following the ban on their national federations.
Key facts about the AIN designation:
  • Context for the ban: After Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, the ISU banned all figure skaters from Russia and Belarus from its competitions.
  • Path to qualification: The AIN designation provides a strictly controlled pathway for a limited number of these athletes to compete for a spot at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
  • Competition eligibility: AIN figure skaters can only participate in a specific designated Olympic Qualifying Competition held in September 2025 in Beijing, China.
  • Screening process: To receive AIN status, nominees underwent a special screening by the ISU. This process confirmed that the athletes had not publicly supported the invasion of Ukraine and were not linked to any military or security agencies.
  • Representation: Skaters with AIN status compete for themselves, not for their country. They do not represent their national federation and cannot participate in the team event at the Olympics.

The Detailed Results Page is up.

I don't understand by the term the detailed results are up? I don't think they have skated yet. I am curious about AIN? Are these ladies any good? Do they have any C elements? Will or are there any skaters who can do the quad loop, quad lutz and quad flips we saw at the last olympics. Can AIN compete with Loena, Kaori, Alyssa, Amber, the Koreans, the other Japanese ladies, Isabeau and the Nina's?

It was short-hand for "detailed results page". You know, where the livescoring is done, and the Time Schedules and then Protocols are linked from:

https://results.isu.org/results/season2526/qogfsk2025/

I've been waiting for it to become available before making out my Predictions, so I'm relieved to see that it is now up.

The detailed results page, so where the starting order can be found before, live scoring during and scoring details after the competition.

Yes. Adeliia is the reigning two-time Russian champion, and while the field she won in might not be considered the absolute peak in terms of Utra-Cs performed, she still had to contend with a number of good skaters. Viktoriia is already an Olympian and placed in the top 10 at Euros in the last Olympic season (about 3 points off of Gubanova's score back then).

No female skater has ever landed a 4Lo in international competitions. Funnily enough, Adeliia is actually the only female skater to ever have landed it in any competition, but has not attempted it in recent seasons. Her usual arsenal in the last two seasons included 3A, 4T, and 4F, but she's coming back from injury and will be skating with a simplified layout here. Viktoriia has also trained the 4Lo but has not yet landed it successfully in competition. I assume she won't be attempting it here in order to secure Olympic qualification.
Can AIN compete with Loena, Kaori, Alyssa, Amber, the Koreans, the other Japanese ladies, Isabeau and the Nina's?
That is a very broad range of skaters, but yes. Adeliia can contend for the Olympic podium if she restores her 3A and/or quads, and Viktoriia can probably contend for a top 10 finish at the Olympics, depending on her and the other skaters' condition on the day.

If the scoring was absolutely fair and Adelia skates clean and 3A and 2 quads she should absolutely win not only this but also the Olympics.

We all know how things go in our sport, and then ice is slippery and Adelia is under a lot of pressure.

During training she didn't perform 3A or quads, combos in FS are 3+2 and 3+3 and 3+2A+2, from what I saw, all jumps landed clean (but I'm mostly UR blind). Unless she isn't showing planned contents, nothing giving her much advantage, still this is not so competitive event, so if she is clean, she grabs the spot, unfortunately for a few skaters I root for because thier skating moves me deeply. This is literally first time I see her skating and her FS itself is ghastly with leeeeg kiiiicks everywhere and crotch grabbing choreo (I know Jackson did choreo like this but please...), so I don't have strong opinion on her skating skills, for sure she is on decent level, but the may be actually overhyped and low-middle 7s would be accurate.

MJ is her SP (thank God), her Free is "Yo soy Maria" which is overdone but a much better program imo.

From watching the SP clip, her jumps look kind of tight. The 2A was fine, the Lutz maybe a q, and the combo looked ok from a rotation calls standpoint but the landing of the 3F was quite wiggly, which should impact GOEs (but might not, who knows).

Salome is in the house.

Oh dear. The girls are going to be trying to skate on a puddle, because the ice will have melted due to Salome being so hot!

In all seriousness, I hope she behaves. This is the last event where we need there to be a scandal! :drama:
