Realistically this was me after every element. I wasn't able to stay sitting in my chair for any of that program.

Then again I never can if I'm watching Adeliia. Or really at all during Nats for almost anyone.

I just reread all the comments now because I was shaking from the warm-up until the medal ceremony hahaha I am DONE for today! But it's HUGE for her to win even without attempting any ultra-c's in her first international senior event.. imo it's worth more than having ultra-c here and win with them..

It will be nice to watch Adelia (and all the other incredible skaters I think Alisa will be Russian champion/best in the world this season), but I don't think we'll see her perform again in competition until Milan. I hope I am wrong.

It's probably the smart thing to do to wait until Milan before competing again.

Not competing for a half of year is normally bad for skaters. I highly doubt she won't attend any events.

Safonova should not have been 7th after the SP. So we all knew she would be moving up. But, Stefania did all that she could do by slotting into what was at the time 2nd behind her.

I am so proud of her.

I don't think she is contender, maaaaabeeeee for 6-9 place, but not for medals. The same goes for Gubanova. I'm not big fan of Samodelkina, but she looks stronger than them and there are even stronger skaters in US, Japan and Korea.

She can't get back something she never had. She literally had only one attempt ever and that was UR.

Wow The top 3 defnitely were the clear top 3. Loena shouold be thrilled; the world remembers her and they thejudges love her. She is well on her way back to the top. Petrosian was good but it becomes clear she doesn't have the pcs or tricks of Eteri'spast girls. Maybe she is coming back from injury still but she will need to compete to get her pcs up and get the experience. She really needs to ensure everything is clean, rotated and sheneeds to project. I hope someone will work on her programs to work on the flow, speed and presentation. It doesn't look like Petrosian will be that big of a threat to Kaori, Alysa, Amber, Mona, Loena when she gets up to speed or the Koreans.. BUT if she competes more that could change.

Is she getting any rating points for that event, I wonder? If not - is she bound to be in the first group with low rating skaters at OG for SP?

There are no points for this event. And even if there were, they wouldn't be enough to move up in the standings.

Agree, very impressive performance by Stefania. She should be proud!

She and Mia (or rather Cyprus and Norway) will now also be alternates nr. 1 and 2 if anybody can´t fill their spot. It´s unlikely scenario, but in case that happens, you want to be on that list! So the placement does count for something.

Both Stefania and Mia are young, and will stay around for a while. Mia has confirmed she will stay for another quad and aim for the next Olympics. She is staying positive and doesn´t seem too dissapointed. Taking it as a great experience and already thinking about her next goals of the season.

I actually don´t feel so dissapointed, because when I see the total scores, I don´t think Mia would have made it even if she skated a clean free as well. Safanova was simply too strong technically and I think Ruiyang, all though showing strong performance as well, got some home scoring bonus.

Actually I´m a bit surprised Mia did so well in her first comp, she has never posted such a high score in her first competition of the season before, this is around her peak score from last season, and since she usually peaks later in the season - I think it bodes well for the rest of the season. Both Mia and Stefania could be looking at a top 10 placement at Euros this season. With the pressure they experienced at this competition it´s great experience building towards Euros!

Always look at the bright side!
