2025 Sask Skate Regina | Oct 3-5

They are a good match. I like their style. Was Miyu just out of breath or in pain after their skate ?

All doubles for now but some of these doubles will get upgraded soon I believe.

Good lifts.

Ummm....maybe a thread for Skate Alberta's Sectionals Oct 30th to Nov 2nd - looks like Keegan is on the list.

The threads for all sectionals are not located in the Summer/ Fall events but in the Canadian Nationals forum. :)

This being said, when I did the first round of those, there was very little info. It's a bit better now so I added a couple threads earlier today. The Skate Canada Challenge thread is there but of course, not yet updated... so is the Canadian Nationals thread.

I will create competition threads for Canadian Nationals (SP/LP for each discipline) as it is customary and for making it easier and more fun for the GS community playing prediction games as Nationals series is a big one.

I hope that clarifies everything.

Yeah, 100 for only doubles is a really solid score. Obviously, scores aren't 100 % comparable, but their highest FS score last season was 88.21 with a lower TES score than they got here, so that's good for them.

Based on last season and their IG posts, I assume their long-term plan is to include 3T and some sort of 2A combination, plus 3STh and 3LzTh, but if she's injured (and it does look like that based on all the taping and her expression directly after the skate) or they aren't confident with that content yet, then it's better to do an easier layout. Side note: Miyu is still absolutely adorable, she was so happy about the score 🥺

That explains it all. I liked them and I hope recovery will be steady for them on their way to nationals.

I am guessing that there are not enough pairs to have skaters excluded from Nationals right ? So they can take their time to regain Miyu's health while training for the next events.

From my counts, there will be a maximum of 9 teams in Senior Pairs (not including Schmitz/Eberl since I don't know what they're doing).

They should be fine for Nationals since they do have the minimum TES. Challenge will impact their start order in the short, but not by much since 6/9 possible entries have a bye to Nationals.

Miyu made a post about the competition, she was injured during practice:

Oh dear, I wish her the best for a speedy recovery. Good to hear that they were given a lot of support on all levels :)
They scored above the minimum score last season in Japan, so if US domestic competitions count, I hope Japanese ones do too.

Just trying to think of all of the teams likely intending to compete at Sr Nats:

Stellato-Dudek/Deschamps
Pereira/Michaud
Laurin/Ehier
Bombardier/Mimar*
Desrochers/Thrasher
Kemp/Elizarov
Yunoki/Taylor*
Schmitz/Eberl*
Graves/Pierro**
Secunda/Ferland**

*(Likely) injured, haven't done a (full) competition yet this season
**New teams, haven't competed yet

Is that all, or am I missing someone? That would be 10 teams.
