2025 Grand Prix of France Women's Short Program

Overally TOP4 great performances.
Rion my choice for the program of the day.Everything felt in place there.Lets see how Ami handle the pressure.

Dissappoitment in Korean skaters, but it may come a standard i fear...

See you in free and hope for some redemptions. đź«°

Lmao, Kaori was not even expecting as good a score as she got.

I think the scoring was pretty fine here, I would have maybe given slightly different PCS, but TES made the biggest difference today. Now, the Free skate will be another battle entirely - Mostly one of who has the best nerves.

You can still hate Issabeu if you want, but you have to respect her work on landings over last two years. Its much much much better.
As for program she could be more energetic, but overally it looks solid.Nothing impressive tho.
This is a good point. She simplifying her jump combo and though it looks pretty nothing stands out about it pure and simple.

If the cameramen could lose singles skaters for several seconds during a short programme, I dread to think how they will cope with pairs where the two skaters can be miles apart.

I am expecting to see mostly a montage of bare ice with a bad soundtrack.

At least I am able to read the scorebox, even if the skaters themselves are out of shot.

Good competion except for nerves for the Koreans. Ami was maybe a little high in PCS, but deserved first place. Kaori was good, but not real sharp. Definitely overscored. Got away with two sloppy landings and was under on her combo. They did call her edge on the lutz though. Levito was good and had surprisingly solid landings. Was overscored on PCS, though. Too slow. Rion was good, but was short on her combo. Fair score.

Just finished watching the women's short, and I was somewhat underwhelmed by these programs? Perhaps it can be expected, since this is the first major competition. Hopefully these programs can gain more life/energy as the season goes on. I don't think the slow music themes help either. IMHO none of these screams "Olympic" program just yet.

Sakamoto almost lost the end pose. The song is one of my favorites and I don’t think she skated well to it. I think she’ll sell it by the end of the season, though. Opening choreography doesn’t make sense. That 2A was gorgeous though. Nakai should win the SP.
She was a surprised by the score. She knew. Looking forward to the free skate.
