She is so centered over her blades that you see very little movement in her torso as she steps up into her jumps resulting in great consistency. There is a calmness to her skating that lets you trust her ability to complete whatever she tries. Mone is to skating what Monet is to art.

it's only 22 points... so usually, it's not enough... though I have seen it work before (with a 15+7 though)

I agree, the judging did a great job breaking down what the skaters did well and where they should try to improve. Constructive criticism is sometimes hard to hear, but can be really helpful if one is open to understanding it.

It may not be. I think her main goal is to make the Olympic team.

Congrats to the medalists! Loved most all of the final group BUT for me, it was a night of quirky programs that I love and will remember -- Jaws and Poor Things. So nice to see something more unique in concept.

Points will be interesting. I got no one in the correct spots but most within one spot if I can still count correctly after this marathon.

Mone Chiba was so gorgeous, Isabeau Levito was also very good in her FS but technically quite a lot weaker tonight. The way Mone flies over the ice is something special to witness. I also have to applaud the work of the choreography, the programs really accentuate her strengths & she deservedly wins Cup of Canada.

A little shame about Lara Naki Gutmann dropping out of the podium after the SP but she still did well all things considered & went for it.

Isabeu got more UR calls and lost more points on review than Bradie.

Anyway, well deserved win for Mone. Her skating skills are really special, I am baffled two of the judges gave her only 8.5 in this component.

Isabeau was also really good, it's a shame she will probably miss the GPF because of the competition in her first event being unusually strong.

Yeah given that Bradie often gets called, I’m pretty zen that they called everyone even Mone who looks fabulous to a general non skating audience.

Me too!! The way she glides with her skates is phenomenal

Ted mentioned Levito PCS was higher. I should know better than to listen to anything Ted says as a fact
