Alysa got 2 underrotations. Did you think she should have gotten more?Sorry but no. This is rigged. Tech panel had completely different standards for the two last skates.

She’s definitely more chill skating than I am watching skating. That downgraded 3A was the difference in the end. But very impressive and brave from Rinka to land 3A-3T and then attempt another 3A, she is making a strong case for the Olympic team of Japan.
Alysa again looks like the most chill person in the world.

well... if I am very blunt, the best program tonight was Lara's. This is the one who should be complaining that she didn't get enough PCS points for composition and performance.I meant one in the SP. I know the one in FS was downgraded. Alysa, obviously, rotated her every jump and demonstrated the extensions, transitions and everything else we come to expect from a score of 215...
Alysa's TES also dropped. While Alysa is not a PCS Queen in this program 2 points difference in PCS is fair given how empty Rinka 's skating is. I think we all need to check our bias at times. There are reasons why Rinka's PB is lower than a lot of other Japanese women with lower BV and these reasons include URs and empty, slow skating. That's reality. And what about Alysa calls? We are going to pretend they don't exist o her exagerated pcs?
Her skills are still in tact just not at the level to continue and win medals in US skating but nationals will be very interesting this year. Best that she is carrying over those skills to pairs where she will hopefully be able to jump, spin and display her skating skills. It's the throws and lifts that she has to become familiar with and master. I think this is a great move for her and skating. There’s not room for her at the top of US ladies. I don’t believe she’s ever medalled at US Nationals as a senior. Not even a pewter. She did win a silver at Skate Canada once. But she’s not progressing. I think she will be amazing in pairs. I think it’s a wise choice.
Surprise surprise, US domestic competition overscores US skaters...
She’s likely in, but it’s not 100%. Sumiyoshi and Hendrickx are up next week and either of them can boot Watanabe out with a silver or better. Sumiyoshi is more likely to beat Watanabe in a combined total tiebreaker, though, while Hendrickx is unlikely.Does Rinka did enought to be part of the GPF ?
Amber has a Gold, not sure how far down she needs to finish for her to make it.Her 2 + 3 pushes out Isabeau's 2 + 4, but not sure what else needs to work out next week for her.
Lara and Starr were my favorites tonight as well.Lara was deserving the 3rd place in this event.
For instance the Lutz in the sequence did not get even q although it was clearly UR. The last 2A was supposed to be <<, not just <Alysa got 2 underrotations. Did you think she should have gotten more?
??? No it's not possible. Home cooking doe alisaThat's got to win. And beating the world champion on her home turf would be a very impressive feat![]()
Well, for me Gubanova's medal is the only highlight of the entire Skate America, because I love her skating, but I love Gutmann as well. My ideal podium would have dropped Alysa into 4th. I just disagree with how high she is scored for nothing specialness.well... if I am very blunt, the best program tonight was Lara's. This is the one who should be complaining that she didn't get enough PCS points for composition and performance.
I like Alysa and her disco program is fun but it's nothing special to me. I feel nothing watching it, not even joy or dancing feet like one would probably feel with it...
Rinka's not performing very well to the crowd. She is fierce and I love that but she is not drawing people in after the WOWs of the 3a-3t
Gubanova puts me to sleep.
So I am happy to file a complaint on the behalf of Lara because she's the one who really got cheated in PCS tonight... and considering how close it was in the scores, lost a medal.
Why? 3 UR and a quarter for Rinka. Alysa had two UR (lest you try to claim they overlooked them), much better choreography and ice coverage.disgusting
Amber goes head to head vs Mone next week with both of them having won 1 gold each, so at least one of them will not get another gold.Amber has a Gold, not sure how far down she needs to finish for her to make it.
