The 94th All Japan Figure Skating Championships will take place December 19-21 in Tokyo, Japan, at the Yoyogi National Stadium. The event will also include meetings for final selections for the 2026 Olympic Games, 2026 Worlds, 2026 Four Continents, and 2026 Junior Worlds.

Note: Junior Ice Dance will compete separately at this event.

Off topic. Have good thoughts for our Japanese friends....Australia had their worst flu season ever and Canada and UK are very worried about a new H3N2 strain, not in the shot.

Tokyo has issued an influenza epidemic warning for the first time in 16 years after the weekly average of cases per medical institution exceeded the alert level. Infections are spreading unusually early, with more than 57,000 cases reported nationwide last week and 23 regions reaching the alert benchmark.
Hundreds of schools have closed classes since September, and hospitals are seeing a sharp rise in patients seeking treatment and vaccinations. Experts say early transmission may be linked to increased travel and large upcoming events, noting that the wave began before many people received vaccines. Authorities advise maintaining basic preventive measures while monitoring the possibility of a second strain later in the season.

Edit: I am an old man with COPD so I always get a flu shot. While the H3N2 sub group A variant IS in the shot, the H3N2 sub strain K is not.
Still, the shot offers some protection. In the 1958 Pandemic, I got so sick I was halucinating...my wife got very sick in the pandemic of 1968. That was the H3N2 also and it killed at least a million people world wide.

Hi everyone, I'm grateful to have gotten tickets for the first day of nationals (19 Dec) as it coincided with my Japan trip albeit it is quite behind at Stand S. If anyone could give me some advice or tips on what to expect or do, please do let me know! And also if anyone knows how far the seat could be, that would be helpful too.

If anyone has a spare ticket to sell for 20 or 21 Dec, I'm still looking to buy one (all ticket categories currently seem to be sold out for those 2 dates, at least on tixplus.

You will need a Fuji on-demand (FOD) subscription and VPN set to Japan. While it's a tad annoying, I've watched this way for several years with no issues (the stream quality is good too). Usually there will be some pirate streams as well but with lower quality.

I plan to post broadcast information and "how to watch" in a few days...by the end of the week at the latest

Sometimes the lower groups are broadcast on stations like "BS Fuji" or "Fuji TV." If anyone is interested, I can put up my document again on how you can watch these live and on demand for two weeks. Cost is usually $3.50 or four bucks for three days. If t. puts up the date and times of comps, its lots of fun to watch Japanese TV. Their commercials are so much more interesting than US ones.
