These tech panels and judges are really going to need to do a better job with jumps reviews and fair calls at the Olympics. This is really unacceptable!

I’m so proud of Amber! Way to skate under definitely less than optimum conditions.
I was stunned to hear she was skating after sinusitis. She did well.
I have had glitches on the ISU YouTube stream also.

Splatted twice.
No beef with the placements, but Amber should lead by more than 3 points.

Certain contenders will need to fight hard against the Japan bonus. I enjoy their skaters the most but their scoring is consistently insulting to the viewer's intelligence.
Not good for jumps. I was hoping she'd fare better.
Neither combo was perfect, but my eyes thought both jumps in Chiba's combo were at least q.
I'm like just the opposite of you. lol. I really don't want to hear disco songs again (been there) and not a fan of either Chiba's or Liu's disco songs. I would have been happy to die without ever hearing either disco song again. Even at someone's wedding when everyone has had a few.
But I love Amber's verson of Like a prayer, and when I first heard it is was a wave of nostalgia-oh yeah...I remember that...it was a great song, and in fact, I liked this version of it the best. Most Olympic judges will be in my age group and I think 'good nostalgia' doesn't hurt at all. It is the perfect vehicle for Amber's personality and flare, and it is a perfect Olympic short program for her. (And some of Amber's musical choices in the past have made me groan)
Good competition, Amber was great, the 3A is looking fantastic this year.
Rino Matsuke’s skating skills scores are bafflingly low, only 7.89 here when she is clearly one of the very best in the world at this and demonstrated it here yet again. One of the judges even gave her 7.25, WTH.

Amber has small cushion for free over more. Interesting to how free skate plays out.

Chiba jumped bigger and with fuller rotation. It was just a small difference in the score.

Summary after rewatching:
Amber:At least one great skate,even tho felt like it was slower and less energetic than normal from Amber,but it was confident and powerful to show she is there for gold in every single competition.
Shame there is no Lutz,but still really good skate.Also worth to mention that knee slide is improved with nice body movement.
Mone:Even she messed up something.
Anyway her skating skills are amazing.There is really no weak point in her skating what is scary compared to other skaters when there is always some lack in spins or stsq for example,but for her everything looks easy.
Rino:It was far from her best and the back ache at the end is a bit disturbing.
Still it's pure pleasure to watch this soft and delicate skate over and over and over.Its still crazy to me how she can skate without making any sound.She may be perfect thief in the future
Rion:My god, what's just happened?? She is really lucky she didn't hit ice with her back head otherwise it could end as a tragedy for figure skating...
Overall it's peak choreo from Rion.Amazing stuff this season,but the fall and flip is costly is she wanted finals
Dress is also well designed.

Or she will leave the loop? Hate this program and especially stsq.

Does bigger refer to length? She certainly does not fulfill the very good height criteria in the bullet points for GOE.

Rino's SS marks are always a tragedy.
Otho, I thought Mone was a bit overscored in both TES and PCS. Combo was under and her performance was mid. But, she's being gifted for being consistent and Rino is being punished for both her inconsistency and URs. Welcome to the strange world of PCS judging.

I just want to post to give a big hug to my favourite female skater Rion. I cried watching her hyperventilating in the kiss n cry.
Hoping for a comeback free skate for bronze and a podium spot. With Amber and Mone so far ahead, her GP Finals hope is probably over.
