2025 GP Finlandia Trophy Free Dance

Laurence should consider herself lucky to be skating at all after what happened with her former partner. To go from being a perennial runnerup who never won anything to being Olympic favorite in their first year together yeah something about this rubs me the wrong way.

My kids going to the podium!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

After being so annoyed over the winners, I'm getting all emotional again!

For goodness sake. Emilea is standing up on the podium, and Mark still can't get her name right! :drama: :bang:

Well, I love the French national anthem, so I won't complain too much. But I love the Canadian anthem too, and would prefer to be hearing it on this occasion.

My goodness, how are they all going to fit onto that top step for the photo?! It is far too small - barely big enough for 2 people, never mind 6! :drama:

Somebody is getting too excitable when the Medallists went to get the flags for the lap of honour. I hope security is on hand.

Hang on, is Mark saying that it is Emilea's family that are getting rowdy?! OK...

If anything, this event proved there is no clear Olympic favorite in ice dance. Canada is going to have to learn to play this political game as dirty as the US and France is currently playing it.

She always had the talent, just not the right partner. It happens to many more girls than we realize.

The last two Grand Prix events have positioned American teams C/B, S/S and Z/K very well at this point in the season. The full scope of the judging/tech panel had a lot to do with this.

I wonder what all the teams - who have grinded through ice dance for years - think of the returning Shibutanis and Emilea placing so highly. (No shade to Emilea, as she is a top performer, has excellent charisma, and is very well conditioned, endurance-wise; but she is only in her third year of ice dance and although her improvements are impressively exponential, she is still perfecting her technique.)

Happy for Z/K, gutted for LaLa.

(Edit: it's actually her fourth season competing.)

What?! Laurence and Guillaume won?!

Sorry, but that did not do it for me. At all.

There again, neither does Olivia and Tim with an "E"'s "Dune" programme that everybody seems to love.

Piper & Paul and Emilea & Vadym both had far better Free Dance programmes. And they should have been on the top two steps.

I am becoming seriously disllusioned with all the politics of Ice Dance.
