statistics
Yhe criterias in singles are:
- Two best scores of the season counted together. Accepted scores are nationals, qualification to nationals, Olympig qualification and international ISU competitions.
- Other criterias for Euros are At least one of accepted scores must be GP, CS or olympic qualifiacion and one must be reached between 1st Noverber-14th December.
So for example, if skaters' best scores are from small international competition and nationals, she/he will not be selected if somebody else has lower scores based on criterias. Olympic and Worlds are kind similar, but for Worlds the nationals is not counted as another competition must be after 1st January and another CP, CS, olympic qualification or Euros. So practically other's CS scores are so low so Worlds spot is between Iida and Olivia.
Our commentators said anybody can go to Worlds, but it is not true, because it means others need so huge scores that no other skater can reach it even with a clean skaters with best levels as they do not have high CS scores. They would need quads and 3As to reach that score. I wonder did they just want to keep the excitiment or have they not read the rules.
There are also ifs as the rules say "fed can also choose another skater from a good reason". ID has a little bit different criterias. T/V do not fill the criterias, but in case of them they use a if-sentence because of an understandable reason.
To nationals. I feel so sorry for Selma. She would have needed just to skate like at Finlandia, even not full clean and bronze would have been hers. Her nerves must have taken her as she was a position she did not expect. She has potential and before nationals I was thinking she may be the one who will get bronze.
Edit: I just noticed that skater must choose between JWC/WC. So, if Matias will get WC minimums and want to goes there, somebody else will go to JWC. But - there are ifs. Probably if nobody else gets the minimums, I suppose in that case a skater who possible have both, can be selected to both. Cases like this the ifs in critecias can be used, I think. But probably Makar has better chance to get the WC minimums if he can jump his 3As clean in an international competition. I think he already once did.
Iida's name is on the JWC list, I think it is a mistake because one competition must be international junior competition this season based on the rules. Or they have decied to use an "if" because Iida has best chances be at top10 and secure two spots.
