2026 U.S.Nationals Senior Women Short Program

Am I the only one who doesn't like this short program for Sarah?

I didn't like it from the first time I saw her skate it, and I still don't. She skated it well, but it's missing something for me. After memorable skates to it from Bourne & Kraatz and Jason Brown, you have to really bring it for this music. For me, Sarah doesn't bring it.
I like the program for her, it shows her off well. What I am still looking for her is her response to the joy of the dance. There is no gusto or joy YET just a driving force.

Maybe that's what I'm missing. I don't get any joy or gusto, as you said.

What Sarah lacks in expression is where Bradie's maturity shines. She is able to express what the music means to her. For Sarah she hasn't developed the ability to do both yet. It may maturity or the perspective of a life's journey. As I said earlier Tech Sarah > Bradie in cleanliness (Bradie has a career full of serious injuries) but in terms of self-expression Bradie>Sarah. With time and perspective Sarah will likely find she has something to say that is just as important to her as just technical ability. A skating career in some ways is a journey.
