I wouldn't say Anna has had a rough year overall, at least not compared to past seasons. I'm not sure what's going on with her, because she started the season really well and even her GP appearances were comparable/better than the first half of last season, but the last 2 competitions have been much worse than expected. Either way, that's getting a bit off-topic, both of them have their unique styles and jumps that come second to almost no skater in terms of size.Yeah, I find Anna to be a bit more Wild, which is why I think she's had such a rough year in terms of jump completion and results, but she also does skate with a ton more speed than Landry. But I totally agree that it's so nice to see such textbook jumps - I would give Landry the edge in terms of technique and control.
I don't know - I haven't really seen her have a great competition or skate this season. She's been in tears on multiple occasions, and has had some very very low scores, finishing below skaters who are nowhere near her ability or world ranking. Didn't she finish in like 5th place at her own Nationals or something?I wouldn't say Anna has had a rough year overall, at least not compared to past seasons. I see a triple axel in her futureI know - sometimes the skaters with the huge jumps just aren't able to add a triple on the end. It was that way with Fiona Bombardier as well, and I think part of the reason she switched to pairs. But that double axle triple toe was a huge step in the right direction, and I think if she can control the triple flip a bit more, and even make it a bit smaller in the combination, then maybe she could do it..? With the success of this year, I think this sets her up really well for next year, and maybe a solid triple triple finally. With that, and a tiny bit more projection and looking up at the audience rather than at the ice, she really does have all the skills to be a Canadian champion.
