So happy to have Minsol backI'm guessing her PCS will be below Maddie and Gabby, but how will her TES hold up?
Yes, I thought the same about her speed, especially in the first half, ironically. I hope she can maintain this as she grows. My experience with a Korean skaters is that their last few Superstars have had their jumping ability, particularly the ability to rotate cleanly, significantly affected by growth and body changes.Well Minsol Kwon was lovely, but it's a little odd to watch someone for whom it's basically an exhibition compared to other women for whom there is so much on the line.
I'd be curious to hear from someone in the arena about her speed. I thought she looked quite slow at times, especially through some of the footwork.
There is definitely some heavy engineering going on with the scoresThat is a bit harsh. Gabby was overscored, and Minsol has been marked more strictly. I am glad she is still on the podium. Please release her for Junior Worlds, Korea...
Yes, the calls for Minsol were justified. My issue is that they were lenient with others. They should have been treated the same. They called everything for Minsol, which is justified, to be fair, but maybe not when they ignored/were more lenient with some other technical issues for other skaters![]()
Honest question : have you seen Gabby skate live ? I was never a fan until I saw her live. She's spectacular. It made me at ease with the scores she gets. At the same time here, she didn't get higher PCS than Maddie who is much slower and blander though has qualities of her own in terms of presentation. There is definitely some heavy engineering going on with the scores
Granted, the judges are always generous with Gabby for whatever reason, but even so
But you have to take into consideration the speed and Power of Gabby, which was light years ahead. Absolute light years. Her jumps also had so much more height, and her expression fit her program much more. Minsol had a pleasant smile throughout most of her program which was a tango. She was fantastic, don't get me wrong, and she skated exactly how someone her age should - but skating skills and element quality is something she still needs to work on. Still, I agree, she is the future, as long as she can handle the puberty monster. That is a bit harsh. Gabby was overscored, and Minsol has been marked more strictly. Maddie popped her 2a and has a V on a spin. So, Lulu and Megan both had a higher base value than Madeline, by a couple points. Can someone give me a quick rundown on why that's the case? I just find it surprising that Madeline was only a couple points ahead of mMegan, despite being essentially clean.
It'll be them, plus whoever is assigned a Grand Prix. I can see SMD getting one based on her Warsaw Cup SB. Maybe Kaiya too, 178 is the third highest SB, plus if Fee Ann can get a good one at 4CC assuming she is assigned.National Team: Maddie, Gabby and Minsol ()
I agree. Minsol has clear edge problems with lutz. In SP, she should replace with 3Lo and only have one lutz in free skate like what Evgenia M used to do. She also has to fix her under rotations.Love Minsol - she is a great addition for Canada. I think the scoring is right. She is the future - but it will make her work on the areas she needs.
