2026 Olympics: Where Will You be Watching?

The Olympics section on Discovery+ UK is up, but they haven't linked to it yet. I assume they will do it nearer to when the first action starts on Wednesday.

Here is the link to the Olympics section on Discovery+ UK:
https://www.discoveryplus.com/gb/en/olympics

And here is the link for next Friday's Olympic Team Event coverage on Discovery+ UK:

The tiles on Discovery+ are currently only going up to Friday afternoon.

Hope this helps

Many thanks! Your links are not working for me maybe because it’s UK links. It says app is not available in your region? Really worried now. I get a colleague of mine tomorrow to look at it. She is a wizard with these things. 🙏🏻 Thanks again.

Interesting. Because you guys get TNT Sports (and previously British Eurosport), I always thought that Ireland was covered by the UK version of Discovery+. But, it looks like I was wrong.

I just did a search, and found this:

https://support.discoveryplus.com/gb/Answer/Detail/000004121

I really hope that they do let you use Discovery+ for the Olympics, because with TNT Sports only having four channels and showing other sports as well as the Olympics, the coverage on the TV channels may not be as complete as we would like.

Oh no it doesn’t look good 😭
And what is really worrying it is that nobody in Ireland gives a damn about Winter Olympics so there won’t be any outrage if no coverage available.
I need plan B !!!

There are now new tiles up on Peacock, titled (Venue Feed) The ice dance rhythm dance, pairs and women's short programs kick off the team event at the Forum di Milano. World feed. No commentary.
This changes everything! Thanks! So If I understand you, there is Venue feed and World feed and the World feed is no commentary. Excellent.

There are tiles which say Venue Feed. When you click on the tile it gives a brief description which says World feed and no commentary.
Thanks! I cant believe how snowed I have been after returning from Hawaii...saw 4 Conts Ladies tonight and got all my tax records together for this weekend. Now I can spend time on figuring out how to watch Olys.

Everyone have good thoughts for our Japanese friends  .......Just saw this today.
Japan Daily

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government officially issued an influenza advisory on January 29, 2026, marking a rare second alert for the same season. Health officials reported that patient numbers reached 13.83 per medical institution between January 19 and 25, surpassing the warning threshold of 10. This resurgence follows the lifting of a previous warning and is the first time since the 2008–2009 season that a second advisory has been necessary.

Experts believe the spike is driven by increased travel during the New Year holidays and the reopening of schools across the capital. Over 6,000 cases of group infections have been reported in schools and social welfare facilities so far this season. Residents are strongly urged to practice frequent hand washing, use disinfectants, and wear masks to curb the spread.

Meanwhile, the US looks to be past its peak and is going down....

BTW, I am testing a rather new hand sanitizer that is so toxic to viruses that it even eats through the tough protein shell of a norovirus. PM me if you are interested. At least I survived a 5000 nautical mile cruise with 2000 other old people with out getting sick.

Thank you for replying! Still no luck here, the link shows that Discovery + should do in Ireland and when I was purchasing there was notice that Milano will be available on ALL plans. But when I try to search for olympics it says not available in your location. The reason I am worried I would not be surprised if you have to purchase tnt sports. I will have to in the end if needed but hope to avoid extra expense.
I checked my HBO schedule and I see nothing, not event the winter sports/figure skating/Olympics category. I wouldn’t worry just yet if I were you. If the official announcement says it is available through Discovery+, I take it it will be.

Worst case scenario may be that you are required to upgrade for one month, and in my opinion it is 100% worth it to be able to watch all the events you want on any device.

Thank you! I contacted Discovery+ customer service, they confirmed it should be available from 6th Feb. Fingers crossed!

Odd...they have hockey, bobsled, skiiers, etc at the Olys.....

Adding to this - The "Venue Feed" team event tiles are listed as Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3. Plus, each segment of the individual events ALSO has a "Venue Feed" that says "World feed. No commentary" in the description. I will be in heaven. Here's hoping all my favorite skaters make the Free Skate/Free Dance, so that I get to see commentary-free versions of both programs. Gosh, it feels like forever since we've been able to have no commentary for figure skating!

Side Note: It's only been three seasons, but it feels like an eternity. ;) Apologies to Mark and Chris and Ted, who seem like lovely people, but (for me) nothing beats having the music, the skater, and the crowd on full display, not to mention the K&C stuff.
I really enjoy Ted not talking during the Jr GP till after the skate. There have been times when you can almost make out the audio in the Kiss and cry. I wonder how the coaches and skaters feel about having the K and C audio broadcast?

A new wrinkle - The Peacock venue feeds still say "no commentary." However, I just read in the Pregame Chat thread that Olly Hogben and Belinda Noonan will commentate the figure skating for the OBS. So, we will have to wait and see if "no commentary" is really true or not, on Peacock. I am confused as to why it would specifically say no commentary if there is in fact commentary on the world feed. Sigh.

What are the other options if I add a VPN? I can't imagine only dealing with NBC for the skating.

You will have to use a vpn, free on google chrome or opera
I hope you have better luck with Google Chrome VPN than I did. I gave up and use Proton VPN by the month. The throughput was too slow. Even after learning how to turn off the browsing safety features. Maybe it will work with higher speed internet. Another bugaboo is my tablet's wifi receiver isnt as good as my phone's. Best to check your wifi throughput before leaving the house. Hotel streaming speeds and strengths vary tremendously. "Network Signal Info" is a free app that will give you the incoming signal strength to your tablet. Right now, my phone says -48 db wifi signal strength, overkill... but it says its 1.1 meters away from the router, when its really 1.5 LOL! Dont confuse signal strength with download speed. A hotel might have great signal strength but poor download speed. Or visa versa. Right now on my primitive internet I have 8.71 Mbps download, which is fine for streaming. Just google "internet speed test" and there are all sorts of websites that will check your upload/download and latency (ping time) speed. On your phone or tablet or laptop. I use Ookla. There are also rumors that Peacock will not allow access unless they can detect your device is really in the US, which may be an empty threat. Doris knows much more about these kinds of things than I do.

I'll probably be watching the Eurosport / TNT Sports coverage too, because everything from the Olympics will be on Discovery+. Under the sub-licensing deal, the BBC is only allowed to show so many hours of coverage in total, so it could be hit and miss as to how much figure skating they show. And I'm not sure whether the World Feed coverage on the Olympics Figure Skating YouTube channel will be geo-blocked or not.

Hello, I also plan to use discovery + although I’m not sure who the commentators will be?

As a back up I want to use the Olympics YouTube channel. For the Olympics YouTube channel, is this just accessible for countries with no media rights do you think? In which case I’m wondering which countries that might apply to and maybe I could set my VPN to tone of those countries?
Thank you! I contacted Discovery+ customer service, they confirmed it should be available from 6th Feb. Fingers crossed!
Thats good news because I have just signed up for discovery plus and I dont see it there yet!

I'm hoping that my VPN will work. I have Cyberghost on my Mac and have just downloaded in on my iPad. So we shall see what happens.🤞

If I find the time I may try the VPN here at home and see what happens.
Absolutely. Set the country to the Neatherlands and watch some ISU youtube 4 conts.

Here is a link: https://www.nbcolympics.com/faq which answers question about watching NBC/Peacock during the Olympics. I was not happy reading that Peacock will only have figure skating videos up for 1 day.

From the link: "Episodes of the Primetime and Late Night shows and full replays of figure skating will be available to watch on demand on Peacock for the entire following day after the simul-stream with NBC concludes in each time zone. Select figure skating programs will be available as short-form clips across Peacock and NBC platforms."

Happy to report that there is Milano Cortina link on my app now (discovery plus) and lists all FS events on Friday !!!!!

I usually use Privado VPN. An you explain how VPN with Chrome works? That sounds easier
I gave up on using the Chrome extension VPN. Clumbsy and full of ads on why you need to update it to the paid version. I am still not convinced that AI will let you use a VPN with peacock. (the extension opening tab is in the upper right of the screen and looks like a mouse took a bite out of a cracker on the left side.)

These 16 events and the opening ceremonies will be a challange. And now Peacock will only keep up replays a day? Really?
So lets take Friday Feb 6th. Pacific standard time.
You set the DVR Rabbit ears to NBC from say 9 am to 12 noon. Easy to edit out commercials and bloat wear at your convenience. And record the opening cerimonies at 8 pm at one's leasure. Ditto commercials and bloatwear.
Meanwhile, you can go back and watch Peacock streaming Team Rythm, Pairs short, and Womens short. Unknown how long it will take the Peacock minions to put up the replays. Now Saturday, times are a bit saner for watching events live in the PST zone. Now things become a bit of a sticky wicket. Perhaps I did not download everything. Not sure when NBC rabbit ears will broadcast women's team free. Will have to go back and see if I missed something..........(edit: rats. There is something called the Supper bowl or salad bowl or something that will pre emp rabbit ears coverage till 7: 30 pm. Only the figure skating schedule doesnt reflect that.....good time to get caught up on live/delayed skating team coverage....I am smelling a mis mash of various sports thrown together on NBC rabbit ears after 7:30 pm Sunday. Then once the team events are done, events are more spread out.....
