I don't like this. Doing a riskier combo in the individual event makes more sense because the excess points count towards your competition total. Here it doesn't matter if he finishes 0.01 or 100 points ahead of the next guy.
Also, unless he's willing to do the 4A/3T in the bonus, it doesn't make sense mathematically. He'd gain more points by doing a 4A, 3A and 4LZ/3T. However, based on today's practice, I think he's planning the more sensible 4F, 3A and 4Lz/3T. However, with Ilia, you never know, and I bet he has contingency layouts based on the scores of prior skaters.

Just out of curiosity, are you getting the same lead in as us in the British Isles?

We just had Tiffany Zahorski in the arena talking to Radzi Chinyanganya (former presenter of the BBC's flagship children's programme "Blue Peter"). And now we have a recorded feature on Ilia Malinin

Thank you.

I wasn't sure if you would be getting Radzi as well.

By the way, for those that read my post about refreshing the page on Discovery+ when the adverts come on, it worked. They are currently showing highlights of the Opening Ceremony while the TV channels are on their break.

Except in the event of a tie. Japan and US could easily finish in a tie. I understood that it gets broken by comparing the highest two scores from each team against each other. I don't recall if it's the TES score, or the total score...but there are a couple of ways ties can be broken. I played with some numbers and found ways that those two countries could literally finish in a tie. Myself, I don't mind either way--I LOVE these skaters, period!

I'm hoping from great skates all around. For me, it's weird that the Team event event has its 'Final' without all the teams doing both events, whether some events get done twice by the same individual(s) or some get split. It'd be a more fair arrangement to have every team skate both the SP and LP events, then total up the points earned.

I am ready. Listening to local commentators, our loved former judge Mika and her commentator partner Sara, who has won national championships in juniors years ago. I have also baked to attract Rinky away, this time blueberry-rasberry pie. Sauna maybe also still warm, not too hot any more.

Yeah, it's pretty absurd. There are only 10 teams in total in the event so it's not like the LP would take ages even if all of them qualify for it. The current rules lead to the absurd where the SP is far more important and almost always decides the medals.

Crap, there really is no commentary this time: Venue Feed on my computer screen and NBC on my big screen TV with commentary is the new plan. We are ready!
